Ixia’s main shingle beach is a great shout for watersports, the sea breeze popular with windsurfers and parasailing activities. The promenade that backs the beach takes you to Rhodes Town and is ideal for strolling, passing shops, bars and tavernas as you go. For laid-back evenings, head to the waterfront for great food and a side of warm-coloured sunsets.

If you visit the authentic cobbled Old Town of Rhodes, you’ll want to visit the Archaeological Museum, where you’ll find objects and artefacts that showcase the resort’s history. Ixia’s main stretch is great for windsurfing and yachting, while if you want to venture further, Prasonisi beach in the southernmost tip of Rhodes is as small isle is very windy, with surf schools available for those eager to ride the waves in style. The Waterhoppers Diving School offers scuba diving, snorkelling and boat rides.

Roughly 16km from Ixia, the Fantasia Amusement Park is a recommended place to visit for tourists traveling with energetic kids. The park offers a rich selection of entertainment and attractions for kids big and small. Nearby, tourists will discover a large water park. Think slow rivers, huge swimming pools with artificial waves, lots of topsy-turvy water rides and much more!

Getting Around Ixia

🚌 Transport in the Ixia Region

You can find ample taxis, airport transfer and shuttle services available in Ixia with a regular busy service taking visitors to popular neighbouring resorts and attractions.

Travelling by bus or car There is a regular bus service which takes you into Rhodes Town and from here it is very easy to change buses and travel to other popular places of interest such as Faliraki and Lindos. Fixed fare taxi services as well as hail cabs run all over Ixia. Or you can hire a car if you prefer the freedom to explore the area at your own pace - with places to hire vehicles available in and around the resort.
