Things To Keep In Mind

Our stay at Sunny Days was unfortunately a huge disappointment.
The room was full of mosquitoes every night – we killed more than ten a day, yet it felt like there was a mosquito infestation, as new ones kept appearing constantly. Sleeping was almost impossible.

When we arrived, the room was clearly not cleaned — dust had built up under the bed and on the furniture. The pillows were far too high, which left us with neck pain.

The breakfast was very poor – stale bread, soggy tea bags, and if you were lucky, the coffee wasn’t finished yet. As for hospitality, there was hardly any. The reception staff barely acknowledged guests, and we even noticed them gossiping about us as we walked by.

To make things worse, drinks by the pool were more expensive than in the nearby bars and restaurants.

In short: save yourself the frustration and book one of the many other, better-rated hotels in Rhodes. Sunny Days sadly does not live up to its name.

We stayed here in October 2025 after a booking issue with our original hotel. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet the expectations of a 4-star property — it would more accurately be rated around 2 stars.

Location:
The hotel is quite remote, with little of interest in the surrounding area. The nearest beach requires a long walk.

Environment:
The central area of the hotel overlooks a lawn that contains discarded items and debris (see photos). The entire property has a significant problem with gnats — they are present on balconies, around the pool bar, in the lobby, and even indoors. There are no insect screens on doors or windows, and we didn’t observe any pest control measures being taken during our stay.

Rooms:
We stayed in Block 4, facing the pool and pool bar. Noise levels were high at night, continuing well past 10 PM. The toilet seat was broken, mattresses were worn and uncomfortable, and the bathroom fixtures were dated, rusted, and not thoroughly cleaned. The shower appeared neglected, and the elevator felt very old and in need of maintenance (see photos).

Restaurant and Food:
The buffet offered limited variety — mainly side dishes and one or two main courses. The salad bar was small, and desserts were minimal. The restaurant itself is undersized for the number of guests, which resulted in long queues at mealtimes.
The “all-inclusive” offer covered only local wine and beer; cocktails and other drinks required additional payment.

Overall:
While the staff were courteous, the hotel facilities and maintenance fall far below 4-star standards. If you can find alternative accommodation on the island, it would likely provide a more comfortable and enjoyable stay.

I read all reviews before coming so I was kind of mentally prepared to my stay. Obviously this hotel can't be rated as 4-stars. The room's furniture is outdated, beds were rusty and mattresses were horrible, bathroom was ok.
What really annoyed me was the quality of food, as it was a disaster, all cut fresh veggies (tomatoes, cucumber and peppers) were spoiled and terrible, feta cheese had terrible quality and all other breakfast items (cold cuts, olives, bakeries,..etc). Dinner was less worse as some items were OK. Reception guys were nice, some of the restaurant waiters were a  bit aggressive. The only nice thing about this hotel is the location as it is few meters away from the bus station and short walk to Ixia beach. So my advice is that it is OK to book there as  long as you are aware of the above facts, and try to keep away from the food.

Absolutely full of mosquitoes whilst everywhere else wasn't,food repetitive and cold at breakfast and dinner.Photos are misleading as the rooms we saw were nothing like those advertised.There is a distinct smell of stagnant water all around the hotel especially on the way into the restaurant for breakfast and evening meals.
Definitely not a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ hotel,avoid at all cost unless you like far below expectation holidays.

Absolutely unacceptable – this is NOT a 4-star hotel, more like 1 or 2 stars at best!

This place is a complete scam. The pictures online are totally misleading – nothing matches reality. You’re being fooled from the moment you book.

The rooms are dirty, full of mosquitoes and insects – we even had cockroaches! The beds are extremely old, worn out, and uncomfortable. The so-called pool is tiny, more like a joke than a place to relax. The hotel is built in a narrow residential alley, which is both inconvenient and annoying – even the neighbors seemed frustrated by the hotel’s presence.

There are no parking spaces, even though they are advertised. It’s a lie – you’re left on your own to find a spot somewhere far away.

The breakfast is an embarrassment. Barely anything to choose from, poor quality, and definitely not even close to a 4-star standard. I’ve stayed in real 4- and 5-star hotels – this is nowhere near that level.

Yes, the staff were kind, but that really doesn’t help when the entire hotel is simply awful. This place is not a place to relax – it’s a place to feel uncomfortable and disappointed.

Bottom line: Avoid this hotel at all costs. You’ll waste your money and ruin your vacation.

Staff did not even clean up the dishes of the guests from the room service, the dishes of the other guests were left infront of our door for 2 days. Service, food quality and hygiene are poor. Definitely not 4-star hotel. It does not deserve even 1 star!

om the moment we arrived, things went downhill fast. What was supposed to be a relaxing getaway turned into a stressful and upsetting experience.

The room looked nothing like the photos – terrible view, a tiny balcony, and instead of a proper double bed, we got two singles that kept sliding apart. The shower was clogged from day one and never fixed.

We were also hit with a surprise tourist tax of €70 per person on arrival – something that was never clearly stated beforehand.

The food was repetitive and tasteless every single day. Worst of all was the staff: cold, distant, and completely unwilling to help. We never felt welcome.

After a serious quad accident (from a rental company located inside the hotel), we returned injured and in shock. No one offered help, checked on us, or showed any concern. Instead, we were charged €55 for two small pasta dishes while barely able to sit upright.

We’ve never felt so dismissed or uncared for. No support, no empathy – just greed and indifference.

Do not book here. This place is unsafe, unfriendly, and unworthy of your time or money. What should’ve been a holiday ended in trauma – and they did nothing to help.
