Cheap Holidays to Olu-Deniz

Holidays in Olu Deniz are all about long, lazy days spent on soft white sands. This sun-soaked resort is backed by beautiful mountains and boasts one of the most famous stretches of glittering sand in the world, ideal if you're looking for a beach holiday with family or a romantic trip for two.

A jewel in the crown of Turkey's southwest coast, the resort's spectacular mile-long coastline invites you to paddle in its azure seas, leading to the beautiful Blue Lagoon. Behind this famous stretch you'll find a promenade packed with local restaurants and bars, too. The resort's rugged backdrop provides plenty of activities during your Olu Deniz holidays, from adrenaline-pumping paragliding off the Babadag Moutnain, to hiking pine-clad mountains and relaxing on boat trips around the island. Travel to the nearby port city of Feyithe for a taste of traditional Turkey, with a cobbled old quarter, atmospheric marina and traditional markets and hammams to try.

Olu Deniz can be a fairly expensive destination with particular food and drink prices similar to that of the UK. But the resort town has a vibrant nightlife with sizzling bars and restaurants you'll want to visit. Olu Deniz serves up a toasty Mediterranean climate with humid summers, whereas the winters here are mild and springs are short. The best time to visit Olu Deniz is during the months of May, June, September and October and the nearest airport to Olu Deniz is Dalaman Airport, located approximately 36km from the city centre. A Guide to Olu-deniz Holidays

All About the Beach

All About the Beach

Olu Deniz’s gorgeous Blue Flag beach has bagged plenty of awards as one of the best in the world and once you set foot on it, you'll see why. To the west of the beach is the Blue Lagoon, where you can pay a small fee to swim in the calm turquoise waters of this stunning conservation area and, if you’re lucky, spot a turtle or two!

As Far as Fethiye

As Far as Fethiye

In a place as lovely as Olu Deniz, you won't need to go too far to discover some of the resort's wonders, but a visit to nearby Fethiye is a must. Take the local minibus or opt for a sunset tour to enjoy sights like the 400BC Tomb of Amyntas in the cool of the evening. Have a drink at the marina before exploring the shops on the cobbled streets.

Be Adventurous

Be Adventurous

Olu Deniz is famous for its paragliding and any thrill seekers that leap off the 1,960 metre Babadag Mountain are rewarded with views of the Blue Lagoon and Butterfly Valley. Alternatively, a huge variety of boat trips, Land Rover safaris and watersports are available for the less daring tourist.

Eat, Shop & Relax

Eat, Shop & Relax

Whether you’re looking for Turkish style fabrics or a designer lookalike, the main street, Carsi Caddesi, is the place to head for souvenirs. Nightlife in Olu Deniz is laid-back so you're more likely to enjoy exotic seafood on sophisticated terraces rather than buzzing bars and clubs. The beachside HangOut is a great place to do exactly what the name suggests.

Getting Around Olu-deniz

🚌 Transport in the Olu-deniz Region

Transfer from Dalaman airport takes around two hours and it's recommended to arrange a private transfer or get a taxi. It's best to agree fares in advance and you may want to bring a detailed map of your accommodation/resort with you. The shops, bars and restaurants behind the beach are easy to reach on foot but if you want to explore the area, book a taxi, or enjoy an organised tour by boat, bus or Land Rover.

Travelling by bus or carIt’s easy to grab a dolmus around the resort, one of the cheap local minibuses that go between Olu Deniz, Fethiye and Hisaronu. Stand on the side of the main road with your hand up and say stop when you want to get off! Car hire is a popular option for those who want to explore the area, but if you’re not a confident driver remember Turkish roads in this region are pretty narrow and wind around the hillsides. If you do drive, stick to the right-hand side.
