Getting Around Turkey

🚌 Transport in the Turkey Region

Public transport covers most of Turkey, so it should be fairly easy to get where you need to go. Alternatively, car hire is feasible and can offer great value for money, but roads can be hectic and the Highway Code is often ignored. Trains and buses are available if you’re planning a long distance trip, while the network of dolmus minibuses is popular for getting around towns and resorts. Taxis are also plentiful.

Passports and Visas

A visa is required. It’s recommended that you buy it in advance via the e-Visa website, rather than on arrival. It costs $20. Passports need to be valid for at least 6 months from entry. Health and Safety

Make sure you have comprehensive travel insurance in place before you go away, to protect you while on holiday. For more info, see www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/turkey/health

Vaccinations

There are currently no specific vaccinations needed for a holiday in Turkey, but see your GP closer to your holiday to double check the latest guidelines.
