  • Hike The Lycian WayThis challenging trail is part of a 760km route that circles the coast of ancient Lycia. Most people choose to hike it in sections. Not for the faint-hearted, but the spectacular views are excellent recompense for your efforts.
  • Explore the Dalmatas CaveFamed for its supposedly healing properties, you can visit this cave in Alanya. Marvel at the stalactite and stalagmite formations within and soak up the calming powers of nature.
  • Zipline through the treetopsHead inland to Tazi Canyon nature reserve for an exhilarating adventure. You can zipline, river raft, enjoy lunch in stunning natural surroundings and more. It’s an approximate 2-hour journey from Turkler.

  • Turkler BeachThis beach features golden sand that slopes gently into shallow waters. Wonderfully family friendly, it has all the amenities you need for a day of fun in the sun. There are also a range of water sports on offer for the more active holidaymaker.
  • Damlatas BeachThis beach, known for its stunning natural beauty, is also popular due to the Damlataş Cave. Thirty minutes from Turkler, visitors can explore the cave, learn about its healing properties and marvel at the stalagmite and stalactite formations inside.
  • Payallar BeachJust 2km from Turkler, this long, narrow strip of beach is backed by an excellent promenade that’s great for running, skating or cycling. Alternatively, take a sunset stroll and enjoy some al fresco snacks at one of the picnic areas.
  • Side BeachSide Beach is secluded and small so get here early if you wish to nab yourself a spot. Expect stunning, soft sand and crystal clear waters. It’s around 50 minutes’ drive so you may wish to combine your beach visit with a trip to the town itself.
  • Tersane BeachUniquely situated, with the ancient walls of Alanya’s fortress as its backdrop, this beach is a great photograph opportunity. The beach itself is small and somewhat rocky, so plan to only spend a short time here.

Getting Around Turkler

🚌 Transport in the Turkler Region

Tenerife is easy to navigate with a range of transport readily available here. The public buses are a cheap way for visitors to explore the island, but most holidaymakers tend to use taxis and hire cars as they offer that extra flexibility during your stay. There are numerous cycling and hiking trails for the more adventurous or daily boat services hopping between each island too.

Travelling by bus or carThere are comfortable, air conditioned buses which leave regularly from most of the main resorts and stop at the island’s most famous attractions. The smaller, local buses are slightly less reliable. Hiring a car is cheap, easy and highly recommended. The island’s main roads are easy to navigate and well looked after; the smaller roads can be somewhat of a challenge. Driving is on the right-hand side.
