Visit SideCulture vultures can get to Side in just half an hour from Avsallar by car. Here, you’ll find sites of historical interest, such as The Temple of Apollo, with a history dating back to 150 A.D; a range of museums and a lively scene of bars and restaurants.
Hike The Lycian WayThis challenging trail is part of a 760km route that circles the coast of ancient Lycia. Most people choose to hike it in sections. Not for the faint-hearted, but the spectacular views are excellent recompense for your efforts.
Sample the local gastronomyAntalya food is famed for using the best produce that the Mediterranean has to offer. Expect stuffed peppers, fresh pizzas and incredible street food as well as delicious restaurant cuisine.

Avsallar BeachThis beach features golden sand that slopes gently into shallow waters. Family friendly, it has all the amenities you need for a whole day of fun in the sun. There are also a range of water sports on offer for the more active holidaymaker.
Damlatas BeachThis beach, known for its stunning natural beauty, is also popular due to the Damlataş Cave. Thirty minutes from Asvallar, visitors can explore the cave, learn about its healing properties and marvel at the stalagmite and stalactite formations inside.
Okurcalar BeachLocated in a sheltered bay on the Turkish Riviera, this beach features golden sand with some shingle. Family friendly, it has all the amenities you need for a whole day of fun in the sun, including a water sports kiosk.
Side BeachSide Beach is secluded and small so get here early if you wish to nab yourself a spot. Stunning, soft sand and crystal clear waters make this tiny stretch a hit with both locals and tourists alike. Sun loungers are available but numbers are limited.
Kleopatra BeachA vast, sandy beach with a pebbly shoreline, it takes twenty minutes to reach Kleopatra Beach from Avsallar. The waves can be strong at Kleopatra Beach so beware of this if you’re wishing to bathe in the sea.

Getting Around Avsallar

🚌 Transport in the Avsallar Region

Tenerife is easy to navigate with a range of transport readily available here. The public buses are a cheap way for visitors to explore the island, but most holidaymakers tend to use taxis and hire cars as they offer that extra flexibility during your stay. There are numerous cycling and hiking trails for the more adventurous or daily boat services hopping between each island too.

Travelling by bus or carThere are comfortable, air conditioned buses which leave regularly from most of the main resorts and stop at the island’s most famous attractions. The smaller, local buses are slightly less reliable. Hiring a car is cheap, easy and highly recommended. The island’s main roads are easy to navigate and well looked after; the smaller roads can be somewhat of a challenge. Driving is on the right-hand side.
