Located a few kilometres west of wonderful Marbella, Puerto Banus is a peaceful marina in the heart of the Costa del Sol. Holidays to Puerto Banus are spectacular if you’re looking for a beautiful setting matched by ocean views and a mountainous backdrop. This sophisticated marina is known as one of Europe’s top party destinations, but the luxurious hotels, long blonde beaches and high-end boutiques and pretty squares make Puerto Banus holidays so much more.
The pleasant climate makes holidays to Puerto Banus an ideal choice for sun-seekers. This quaint marina has it all – from a buzzing nightlife scene to beautiful Blue Flag beaches, luxury boutiques, fast cars and extravagant yachts – it’s no surprise it’s known as the St Tropez of Andalucia. The resort is also famous for its beach clubs, from Ocean Club Marbella to Nikki Beach, or even an afternoon spent in the quirky Astral cocktail bar.
If you fancy a change of pace, swap the champagne bars for the authentic Old Town, where the hustle and bustle of the horseshoe promenade is replaced by winding cobbled streets spilling with shops, local tapas joints and bars to eat, drink and unwind in – including the gorgeous hidden gem that is “Plaza de los Naranjos”, or, Orange Square. For those wanting to explore the resort, hire a bicycle or walk the Golden Mile, almost 5 miles in total, where you’ll pass popular squares, parks and landmarks including Plaza de la Iglesia, Paseo Maritimo and the Marbella Lighthouse. Equally, you can navigate around the resort via boat, with plenty of day trips leaving from the port. Puerto Banus holidays are as much for kids as they are for adults, with bundles of activities to enjoy held in the main square.
Puerto Banus has some of the best beaches in southern Spain. Most of the beaches here are Blue Flag certified. There are plenty avenues for you to enjoy jet skiing, parasailing, a new flyboard experience, double & single canoes, water skiing, wakeboarding, kite surfing, scuba diving and much more. You can also go dolphin watching as well as enjoy on the beach with quads and boogies - ideal for fun-loving families.
On Saturdays, the beaches in Puerto Banus transform in to a lively local market. Here at this market, you can buy everything from clothes, furniture, carpets, handbags, ceramics, souvenirs, fragrances, accessories, and more. This market may sometimes be held every day only during the summer months. On Saturdays, the market is open from 10am to 4pm.
The town of Puerto Banus was developed for only one purpose – entertainment! And entertain it does. The town has a bustling and varied nightlife scene. The resort’s piano clubs, bars, restaurants, discos are open until the wee hours of the morning! While the Old Town of Marbella may not have swanky bars or clubs, it makes do with a fantastic selection of lounges, cocktail bars and pubs.
The once quaint town of Puerto Banus has now metamorphosed into a pulsating marina with a host of restaurants and bars offering a wide variety of cuisines from all over the world. The seafood restaurants here are exceptional. There’s also a burger joint, Italian restaurants and some Indian restaurants to indulge in. If you’re travelling here during the summer months, it is advisable to book your tables or make reservations well in advance where possible.
