There’s also sailing and kitesurfing available, plus Soma Splash Soma Bay water park.

Indulge In Fine Dining

Foodies will be in their element at Soma Bay, with fine dining restaurants across this coastal resort catering for all tastes. Whether it’s local Egyptian cuisine or international fare you’re after, it can all be found at one of the restaurants within the resort’s hotels. And you’re not just limited to your own hotel either - many guests choose to experience the restaurants at surrounding resorts, with discounted prices on offer. If the Egyptian sun gets a little too intense, there’s also a number of before and after sun treatments to help keep your skin nourished. Elsewhere, the spa’s hydrotherapy pool takes up over 750 square metres, and is divided into different zones depending on what you’re after. There’s everything from water jets to bubbling baths and relaxing showers.

Play A Round Of Golf

Those who want to practice their swings can also do so at The Cascades, which offers an 18 hole, par 72 championship golf course. Not only is it designed by South African golfer Gary Player, the perfectly manicured course also offers unmissable views out over the desert and the sea. Beginners and experts alike can practice their technique on the adjacent 9 hole, par 3 challenge course, while there are also practice facilities and pitching practice greens to take advantage of. Plus, if you’re really serious, you can even partake in a spot of individual or group tuition by PGA golf pros.

Getting Around Soma Bay

🚌 Transport in the Soma Bay Region

Soma Bay itself is easy to walk around, but take precautions in order to protect yourself from the strong sun. There’s also a free shuttle bus that whizzes you between hotels and some of the tourist attractions in the area, including the golf course and diving centre.

Travelling by bus or carBuses whisk tourists in and around Soma Bay for a reasonable price, but during the height of the season they can get busy. Hiring a car is possible but it’s not recommended for holidaymakers. Local drivers in Hurghada and into Soma Bay can be a little erratic and while you may be a confident driver at home, you may have a different experience here. Drive on the right-hand side.

Passports and Visas

A visa is required to travel to Soma Bay, and can be bought at the airport for $25USD (or equivalent). Passports should have at least 6 months remaining on them.
