Holidays to Sarigerme give you breathtaking beaches perched in a national park, beautiful Roman ruins, traditional tavernas and some of the most thrilling kiteboarding around.
All the things you’re looking for from a family holiday are right here in Sarigerme – from the serenity to the sight-seeing; from the adventure to the history. This popular village on the southwest coast of Turkey was once the bustling ancient city of Pisilis, but now life takes a much slower and relaxed pace, offering a laid-back vibe that attracts families year in, year out.
Like the beach life? Sarigerme Beach blankets the coastline for a generous seven kilometres. The sandy stretch is perfect for families, with fluffy yellow sand curving into a shallow shelf towards the turquoise ocean. Expect to be surrounded by nothing short of awe-inspiring beauty when you visit Sarigerme Beach – it’s situated in a National Park Conservation Area, after all.
If you’re the adventurous types who’d rather spend your Sarigerme holiday exploring than relaxing, you’ll find plenty to feed your imaginations at this resort. Southwest Turkey was once a mainstay of the Romans’ empire, and they left quite a hefty load behind. Many of Pisilis’ ruins are buried beneath the beach, but glance your eyes just next door, and you can clearly see the ancient crumbling walls. Or you can catch a quick 30-minute drive and visit the enormous archaeological site at Kaunos. Here you and your family can spend hours on end exploring the ancients baths, amphitheatre and the beautiful tombs carved into the cliff.

If you’re traveling with little ones, then a day out at the colourful kite festival is a must! Sarigerme’s breezy location reels in avid kite flyers to this annual festival, and you can even put your skills to the test by giving taking your own kite to the skies. This vibrant and fun family event promises a fabulous day out where you can pack a picnic, lie back on the soft, golden sands and watch the endless sky become a rainbow of beautiful floating colours.

Have your kids ever come home looking they’ve bathed in mud? Well now they really can with nature’s very own spa, just a 20-minute drive away at Daylan. Simply hop a boat and take a relaxing ride across to the thermal springs and mud baths, where you can have a wallow and then rinse off in the warm sulphur pool. As well as offering pure entertainment for the little ones (who wouldn’t want to watch the grown-ups looking like a dirt-monster!?), the mud is believed to relieve aches and pains and give your skin a radiant glow. If it’s good enough for David Bowie and Sting, it’s good enough for us!
