Getting Around
Getting around in Gumbet is easy. Much of the resort can be enjoyed on foot and you're not far from central Bodrum. There are plenty of transport options too, including dolmuses (shared mini bus) and taxis, which are inexpensive. There are also traditional buses and car hire options available.
Restaurants in Gumbet
You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to the resorts restaurants. There are plenty that dish up top notch fare, but if you want to eat well for less, you should keep an eye out for the more authentic places. Take a seat in Seray Zetas or Bella Zin and you'll find the locals tucking into kebabs and stuffed dolmas.
Under the Sea at The Big Reef
Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced diver, the scuba facilities around Gumbet are excellent. The Big Reef is located a short boat ride away from Gumbet, where you can swim among the technicolour marine life spotting parrot fish, barracuda, and maybe even an octopus hiding in the coral!
Gumbet's Bar Street
Bar Street is the main ‘strip’ in Gumbet, where buzzing bars flood out onto the tourist-packed pavements. That's not where the pubs and bars stop though, there are more just off Bar Street that are ideal if you fancy a dance. The beach road has some chilled out offerings too, if you need a night off from hard-core partying.
Sand, Safari or Spa?
Gumbet's coastline boasts a one kilometre-long stretch of golden sand on the Bodrum Peninisula. Relax under the sun, play some volleyball or hit the watersports! Grab a drink from the hotels, restaurants, and cafés behind the sands. And, if you feel like getting away from the resort for a day, a jeep safari is a fun excursion suitable for all the family. If you're looking for something a little more luxurious though, treat yourself to a Turkish bath the next day so that you can unwind after all the action!
