The resort is great for families too, hosting all of your regular amenities close by and a relatively flat landscape for easy wheelchair and pushchair access.

 

Food wise, traditional Turkish bites are easy to find and the locals here know enough English to help you find your way around. Head to the beach to see the interesting blend of life in Kumkoy, with a luxury hotel dominating one half, and handmade beach houses, poised on stilts, on the other. All parts of the beach are public, but the hotel has lounges and the like for visitors willing to cash out for comfort.

Although it can get crowded in peak season, the rides are worth the wait and priority tickets are available. If paddling in the lagoons and flying down flumes isn’t enough for you, check out the dolphin shows or see the notorious stuntman Chapito perform in Adrenalino; breathtaking family entertaining to have you all on the edge of your seat.

Close enough for a day trip and definitely worth the ride is the Ancient City of Perge. These ruins were once the most prosperous city and evidence of a blossoming civilisation still shows today. View the old Amphitheatre, decorated city walls, and pass under the arch of the Roman Gate. The site spans 15km so give yourself plenty of time to explore.

Getting Around Kumkoy

🚌 Transport in the Kumkoy Region

Kumkoy is best to explore by foot, which is a great way of exploring the area - but buses run around town and you can flag down taxis or hire a car here for reasonable prices.

Travelling by bus or carBuses and minibuses operate to all major tourist spots and run regularly to connect Kumkoy to its neighbouring resorts, towns and attractions. It's easy to hire a car in Kumkoy, with a variety of pick-up and drop-off options to suit all visitors. This is a good idea if you're travelling in a group or with family and want to explore the surrounding area easily.  
Passports and Visas

All British citizens need a visa to visit Turkey. Apply for this in advance on the government website. Visas-on-arrival are no long available at the airport from October 2018. Visas are valid for multiple entries as long as you do not exceed 90 days of stay within a 180 day period. Your passport must be valid for a further 6 months after your date of entry to Turkey and must have a black page for your exit stamp.

Health and Safety

There are currently no official travel advisories or warnings regarding Turkey or Kumkoy specifically, but we always remind travellers to exercise general precautions. Turkish water is drinkable, but we still recommend buying bottled as different ratios of chlorine may upset a foreign stomach

Vaccinations

Vaccinations are not necessary for Kumkoy, but we recommend all travellers be up to date with the English vaccine schedule.
