Getting Around

Barcelona airport has great public transport links to the city centre. If you’re staying in a central location, many of the main tourist attractions are within walking distance. If not, it’s easy to use the city’s excellent metro and bus services. Taxis are also available. Due to the traffic, driving can be a bit of a headache, and most visitors to Barcelona choose to have a holiday from driving.

Hit the lovely sands of Sitges

For its small size, the town boasts of an incredible 17 beaches and all are regarded highly among tourists. Ranging from gay-friendly to nudist and family-friendly, whatever it is you’re looking for, there’s a beach for you. White and sandy stretches vary from being a short walk from the city centre to remote and secluded. While Platja de la Fragata, next to the church, has a volleyball net and pedalo hire making it popular for families, Garraf is a little remote but incredibly scenic with thanks to its backdrop of the Sierra de Coma Roja area. The popular stretches in the centre boast a clutch of seafront cafes and restaurants, too.

Soak up the history & culture

Sitges has charmed us with its cultural town for centuries, with awe-inspiring architecture - including its 20th century seafront mansions – art and treasure museums and historic tales. Visit the Cau Ferrat Museum, once home to the artist Santiago Rusiñol, whom upon his death left the house and its contents open to the general public – there are also museums like Maricel Museum and Museu Romantic worth of a visit. The Sitges Film Festival is also a must for fantasy and horror lovers.
