Holidays in Torremolinos are all about unwinding on sandy beaches, relaxing with friends and topping up that all-important tan! Its Blue Flag beach is naturally the major draw but its charm doesn’t stop at fun-filled watersports and pedalos.

 

Party all night at the nightclubs and bars along the seafront during your Torremolinos holidays or take a boat trip along the coast. You can also walk down to the beaches of Benalmadena, less than 7km away, sitting between Fuengirola and Torremolinos, with all three towns merging into each other. There’s lots to do in Torremolinos, including taking the kids to the Aqualand water park or checking out the nightlife on San Miguel street. The Andalusian Mountains and its pretty villages are on your doorstep, as well as the bustling resort of Malaga, Picasso’s birthplace. Your days and evenings here can be as busy or as chilled as you like.

January is the coldest month in Torremolinos with temperatures between 11°C to 15°C, while February is warmer by a couple of degrees. June, July and August are the hottest months at 28°C but expect to mingle with the tourist crowds during these peak months. To get to Torremolinos you can fly into Malaga Airport, approximately 8km and a 10-minute-drive away from the resort, costing roughly €20 by taxi.

If you want a party, come to Torremolinos. The seafront promenade is lined with beach bars, seafood restaurants and nightclubs that are open till sunrise. Take a dip in The Palladium's party swimming pool, sip on cocktails while in your swimsuit at The Fun Beach or try your hand at some serious salsa at Atrevete. For quieter evenings, enjoy the traditional tapas bars, catch a live cabaret show and forget all your worries with a little flamenco dancing. Take a short drive into Fuengirola for more nightlife.

Families will absolutely love Tivoli World, the Costa del Sol’s largest theme park. Ride giant Ferris wheels, take to the skies on the Twister or dare to shoot 60 metres up the Drop Tower, before free falling to rock bottom. Be sure to explore the parks other attractions including its tropical gardens or try your hand at flamenco dancing and be entertained by Spanish singers and the Tivoli Theatre where you try your hand at flaminco dancing.

Perfect if you’re travelling with youngsters, Aqualand is a waterpark about 15 minutes' away from the centre of Torremolinos. It’s the biggest waterpark in the Costa del Sol and has a variety of white-knuckle slides and flumes, as well as gentle rides, kids' pools and chill out spaces.

Both kite surfing and wind surfing are incredibly popular in the area, with the Mediterranean sea breezes providing plenty of ripples which will ensure a fun-filled experience. You can hire the gear you need from Torremolinos beach, whether you’re a beginner or more advanced. Alternatively, there’s always a gentle pedalo excursion to enjoy with the kids.

Getting Around Torremolinos

🚌 Transport in the Torremolinos Region

The resort of Torremolinos is easily explored by foot and most of the restaurants and bars are centrally located. However, if you want to venture a little further, hiring a car is your best bet. If you would prefer to let someone else do the driving, there are plenty of taxis and buses servicing the area, with the buses running into the early hours of the morning at weekends.

Travelling by bus or carThe bus service that operates in the area is efficient and inexpensive. Night buses are also available at peak times and run along the coast to the various resorts within the Costa del Sol. Schedules can vary so check with your hotel. Car hire offers holidaymakers independence and flexibility and is a great way of exploring the area around Torremolinos. Hire is relatively inexpensive, too. Remember to stick to the right-hand side when driving.
