Getting Around
Blanes is 85km from Barcelona airport, and only 33km from Girona. Trains run every 30 minutes from the city, but taxis are available too. However, once you’re there and settled, nothing beats a stroll down the promenade or cycling around town to really absorb the scenery.
Marimurtra Botanical Gardens
Flaunting over 4,000 species of flora, from five continents, the Jardi Marimurtra Botanical Garden has developed into one of the most important biological gardens in Europe. Founded by German botany lover Karl Faust in the early 1900’s and still under private ownership, Marimurtra offers more than your standard botanical garden; it has a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea and the cliffs of the Costa Brava.

Make family memories and let kids blow off steam in Park Fransesc Macia; a play park with swings, slides, and then some. Watch the locals play boules, and truly relax within the high walls that give the park a private garden feel. Sculptures dotted all over include croissants, ducks, and boots - how many can you spot? Located just minutes from local supermarkets, why not grab some snacks and enjoy a picnic.
