Hit The Red Sea

Hit The Red Sea

Dive into the Red Sea for a chance to see Makadi Bay and the surrounding coastline from a totally different perspective. A one-hour drive from Makadi Bay brings you to the resort town of El Gouna, where divers can take a trip under the sea to explore a shipwreck. Alternatively, head out to Giftun Island for a deep sea diving lesson, and soak up the colourful marine life and coral.
Not a fan of diving? No problem! The clear water gives you the perfect opportunity to give a spot of snorkelling a try, while regular boat trips take you away from the hustle and bustle to explore secret coves and the sea life. Elsewhere, there’s Makadi Bay Water World with slides, flumes and pools to keep adults and kids alike amused.

As well as Roman ruins, there’s also an Old Town that’s full of authentic Egyptian restaurants. It’s also got its own souk where you can practice your haggling skills and come away with rugs, spices, traditional clothing and more.
