Getting Around
Take a taxi or board the regular shuttle bus to make the 30-40 minute journey from the airport. Dubrovnik isn’t car friendly and parking is limited so it's best to ditch the hire car and explore by foot. Most attractions can be easily accessed and visitors can grab a taxi if venturing a bit further afield. The town is home to a main ferry port from which you can visit islands like lovely Lokum, which is only a 15-minute journey away.

For a great photo opportunity, walk around the ancient castle walls that surround the Old Town of Dubrovnik and enjoy panoramic views of the Adriatic. There are several cafés near the harbour for more great views. If you’re a Game of Thrones fan, there’s even a dedicated walk that takes you to the popular locations where the series was filmed.
Sunbathe at Banje Beach
If sunbathing is on your list of things to do, be sure to head to beautiful Banje Beach – the closest beach to Dubrovnik's Old Town. There are watersports to enjoy, from jet skiing, paragliding, water tubing and banana-boating fun and the Banje Beach Restaurant Lounge & Club is a good spot for sundowners as the sun sets over the city's honey coloured buildings.
Enjoy the Adriatic
Explore more of the stunning Croatian coastline by taking to the Adriatic waters. See the spellbinding walled city from seaward and take one of the local ferries out to a neighbouring island. If you fancy a spot of proper island-hopping, board a boat and take a tour of the Elaphiti Islands where you'll venture through Kolocep's Blue Caves, soak up the rays on Sunj beach and stop at beautiful Sipan. Stroll in the Old Town
The cobbled streets of Dubrovnik's Old Town (dubbed the 'Pearl of the Adriatic') are full of character and this atmospheric part of town is steeped in history. Wander the narrow lanes, watch the world go by from one of the tiny bar terraces and marvel at the great ancient architecture, baroque buildings and clustered houses. As you enter through Pile City Gate you'll see the Minceta Fort. Stroll through Stradun for shops, galleries, cafés and bars, and if it's a Saturday head down to the market and pick up some local brandy, aromatherapy oils and Mediterranean spices. During the evening make the most of the Mediterranean cuisine at one of the Old Town's many eateries.
Chill on the Cliffs
Dubrovnik's unique bar terraces are a must. Built on ledges, into the rocks and within the ancient buildings, the city's bars and restaurants are mesmerising. It's easy to miss, but the ‘hole-in-the-wall’ Buza bar is one of the most beautiful in the city. Tucked away in the cliffs above the sea, this café and bar offers incomparable views out over the Adriatic. Take a seat at a table on the rocky ledges and soak up your surroundings. During the summer the bar sometimes projects films onto the cliffside for a cinema experience like no other!
Visit the Fortress Club
If cocktails, clubs and caves are your thing, located in the heart of a 500-year-old fortress is Culture Club Revelin. Fatboy Slim, Boy George and Paul Van Dyk are among the famous names that have played here and the lofty arches and high fortress walls set the mood for a memorable night out. The club often hosts state-of-the-art light shows, while the terrace offers gorgeous views of the coast. The large dance floor and well-stocked bar ensure that the party continues till the late hours, so find your nook and enjoy!
