Cheap Holidays to Playa de Taurito

Nestled between Puerto Morgan and Puerto Rico on Gran Canaria’s southern coast is the beautiful resort of Playa Taurito, known for its stunning black volcanic sands, sparkling blue water and warm sunny weather. It is great place for relaxation, watersports and family-friendly activities.

The resort is filled with quaint cafes, tasty seafood restaurants and a selection of tapas bars. A range of watersports are available at many of the beaches, including fishing, jet skiing and diving for adventure lovers, while the nearby Puerto Rico has a selection of boat trips and day excursions to choose from. There is also a diving centre located near the beach, which provides lessons for divers of all levels. Little ones need not be disappointed either. Right behind Taurito’s beach is a waterpark called Playa Taurito Lido. It has lagoon-style swimming pools, tropical gardens, mini golf courses, bowling alleys and arcade games fit for all ages. The restaurants in the nearby fishing village of Puerto Morgan are famous for grilled seafood delights, while Puerto Rico is a shopper’s paradise with plenty to shops selling beach wear, flamenco dresses and apparel.

When it comes to nightlife, Playa Taurito may not serve up the same vibe as Puerto Rico, but its clubs and lounges provide a much more intimate experience. Most of the evening entertainment is provided by the hotels, too. Holidays to Playa Taurito are a great way to spend some quality time with friends and family, with great sightseeing and day activities thrown in for good measure.

Getting around Gran Canaria is easy and there is a variety of transport facilities to choose from. The public buses are a cheap way for visitors to explore the island, but taxis and hire cars offer added flexibility during your stay. If you like to explore on food, the Canary Islands have plenty of cycling and hiking trails that are tucked away. Daily boat services leave from the island, so why not spend the day exploring further afield?

Travelling by bus or carBuses regularly leave from the resort and will take you to other resorts and attractions around the island. The smaller, local buses are less reliable so please check with your hotel for an updated timetable.   Hiring a car is cheap, easy and highly recommended and you can do so from the airport or from your resort.
