Cheap Holidays to Palma Nova

The less hedonistic little sister to Magaluf, Palma Nova holidays are full of fantastic beaches, fun bars and waterfront eateries. Three spectacular beaches make up a horse-shaped bay, ruled by the central Playa Palma Nova, a Blue Flag beach which is also family-friendly. During the long sunny days, fun is focused on the beach at Palma Nova where there are loads of watersports to enjoy and rows of brightly coloured umbrellas and loungers where you can top up your tan.

If you're feeling adventurous, tee off at Golf Fantasia, try your hand at go-karting or brave the thrilling rides at local waterparks. There is just as much to enjoy at night on your Palma Nova holidays as there is during the day, with plenty of karaoke bars, cocktail lounges and waterfront venues to try before pottering down the promenade towards the lively Magaluf Strip, which is right next door. For quieter evenings, drive to the capital city of Palma where you can enjoy traditional tapas, shop for Majorcan gems and stroll down the streets of the charming old town.

To reach Palma Nova, fly to Palma airport in east Majorca, about 26km from the town and 23 minutes by taxi. Palma Nova has a hot summer thanks to its Mediterranean climate, with the temperature averaging between 22°C and 25°C from June till September, with highs peak of 30°C in August, when it’s the hottest. You can expect sunny days in April and May, too, when the beaches are less crowded.

Hit the Watersports

Hit the Watersports

Palma Nova's beaches are buzzing during the summer and you can try your hand at all sorts of activities. Ever wondered what your resort looks like from high in the sky? Sign up for a paragliding session and see for yourself! If you’d prefer to stay closer to ground level, there are plenty of watersports including banana boats, waterskiing and windsurfing to enjoy - or treat the kids to a pedallo with a slide!

Potter along the Prom

Palma Nova’s promenade is jam-packed with stalls, stores, entertainers and lovely bars to enjoy on its beachfront location. Market stalls sell everything from traditional Majorcan pottery and handicrafts, to typical souvenirs that you can take back home for family and friends. Once you've basked on the beach, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a bite to eat on the promenade before preparing for the night ahead.

In Palma Nova, you’re only a five minute drive away from the award-winning Marineland, that not only introduces you to sharks, sea lions and exotic birds, but also allows you to meet the resident dolphins and, if you pay extra, you can spend some time interacting with them when they’re taking a break from their shows.

Tee Off at Golf Fantasia

Tee Off at Golf Fantasia

Don’t worry about your handicap, Golf Fantasia is all about adding an element of fun to a classic game of golf. There are three floodlit tropical courses to choose from here, all with tricky obstacles along the way. Focus on scoring a hard-to-come-by hole in one for ultimate bragging rights!

Getting Around Palma Nova

🚌 Transport in the Palma Nova Region

There are plenty of taxis operating in the resort, which can represent great value for money if travelling as a group. Walking is your best bet for exploring the local area, and Magaluf is only a 30min stroll away. Mopeds and bicycles are also available, providing budget-friendly and fast ways of getting around, and ample bus routes will take you further afield.

Travelling by bus or carBuses to nearby hotspots, including Palma City, run regularly and well into the evening in holiday season. Journeys represent excellent value for money, but can be very crowded during the summer months. If you wish to explore more of the island, hiring a car is a great way of getting around independently. You can hire cars from the airport, or within the resort. Driving is on the right hand side and roads in tourist areas are good.
