We've found the best locations for a September holiday in the sun, where you can relax on palm-dotted beaches with glittering seas and azure skies. Whether you fancy a Mediterranean holiday by the sea, long weekends in party towns or escaping somewhere a little more exotic, these spectacular holiday spots are your best bet for catching some late sun!

ALGARVE

The Algarve is located on Portugal’s southern coast, where temperatures can soar into the 30°Cs in September. The region's golden, sandy Blue Flag beaches are as inviting as ever. Magnificent burnt-orange cliffs, scenic golf courses, luxurious resorts and the beautiful Via Algarviana hiking trail ensures there is lots to do, while the quaint fishing villages of Alvor and the bustling towns of Albufeira and Vilamoura offer fun for the whole family. 

CANARY ISLANDS

The seven sister islands boast toasty temperatures of 25°C in September (though tempratures are often much warmer) thanks to their Sub-Saharan climate. CYPRUS

Cyprus has pleasant weather from April to September with temperatures of 29°C, making it a fantastic spot for late summer holidays. Paphos rockets to the top of the list for family holidays,thanks to it's spotless beaches, waterparks and fantastic attractions - the amazing waterfalls of Aphrodite in particular. Beach bums should head to the gorgeous, cresent-shaped Coral Bay for it's powdery white stretch of sand or if it's a party you're after, lively Ayia Napa is abuzz with clubs and bars. Pretty Limassol has a large marina and geeat sandy beach with lots of fun activities, rides and cafes along the promenade. 

GREECE

Idyllic Greece boasts gorgeous sunshine during September, making it an ideal spot for late couples holidays. The whitewashed villages perched atop cliffs, pretty blue domed churches, delicious cuisine served in al-fresco tavernas and lovely sunsets are sure you woo you, whether you're travelling with family or a loved one. MALTA
