Thailand's Best Beaches

Thailand. Home to amazing food, great low cost holidays, incredible hotels and beautiful islands – just a few reasons why holidays to Thailand are so popular!

The Southeast Asian country also has some of the world’s most amazing, scenic beaches. From palm fringed beaches in exotic Koh Phi Phi to the popular shores of Phuket, Thailand's stunning beaches also offer amazing views along with stunning sunsets.

Let us guide you through some of our favourites!

Maenam Beach

This amazing beach is located on the island of Koh Samui and is recommended for those looking for relaxation and tranquillity mixed in with a beautiful view of the island of Koh Phangan. On this beach there are restaurants, bungalows and luxury resorts and you will also find a number of bars. This beach is ideal if you are looking to relax with a good book and maybe have an amazing Thai massage to recharge your batteries.

The sea can get deep pretty quickly in places which makes Maenam Beach possibly less suitable for families with young children. The water is generally quite calm though so you can take a dip without too many issues. During high tide this beach is narrow, making it more difficult to take a stroll so make sure you time your visit if you want to go exploring. Your evenings at Maenam Beach are friendly and relaxed. You can also easily take the boat to Koh Tao or Koh Phangan from the pier. On Koh Phangan they have a party if it is dark, half-moon or full moon, in other words on Koh Phangan there is always a reason for a party! The boats to Koh Tao and Koh Phangan leave from the Maenam pier at noon. Experiencing a full or half moon party is real bucket list activity so give it a go when on a 2023 holiday to Thailand

Sunset Beach, Koh Lipe

Also known as Hat Pramong, the name Sunset beach says it all! You can see the sunset extremely well here and it is truly beautiful, and needs to be experienced! This 200m beach in the north is less crowded than some of the other better known beaches and can be reached via Walking Street, or you can also take a taxi. Taxis are actually scooters with a sidecar – tuk-tuks - but on Koh Lipe and in Thailand it’s the norm! On the road near the beach after sunset there are always a number of tuk-tuks so you can be sure to pick one up no matter when you visit.

Sunset Beach is quiet during the day. There is also a nice breeze on the west side of Koh Lipe and several trees along and on the beach that will provide shade. Add to the relaxing vibes by sampling a cocktail or two in the Bay View Sunset restaurant. You can also enjoy the sunset here and you will find this little restaurant on stilts on the far left side of the bay. A must visit when on holidays to Thailand.

Long Beach, Koh Lanta

This is the largest and most popular of Koh Lanta’s beaches. Just a 10 minute drive from Saladan village and the ferry port making it easily accessible. Beautiful golden soft sand which stretches for 5km and edged with tall pine trees awaits you and is an Insta-ready beach if we’ve ever seen one!

This beach gently slopes towards the sea where the water goes deep very quickly creating the perfect place to swim. Because Long Beach’s resorts, guesthouses, bars and restaurants are all scattered along the whole length of the beach and set back amongst the trees, this beach remains wide open with very few sunbeds or restaurant tables taking up space on the beach. This leaves the beach with a breath-taking sense of space you won’t find anywhere else.

Long Beach’s bars also provide the perfect location for watching Koh Lanta’s stunning sunsets, which light up the sky with many different colours over the ocean before the sun disappears below the horizon. As Long Beach has such a wide, uninterrupted view of the horizon, it offers amazing picturesque views so don't forget your camera!

The quickest way to get to Long Beach is by express transfer. This is a mix between a minivan and speedboat to get you door to door from Krabi Airport to your Koh Lanta hotel. You can also get a private minivan transfer which is great for families and groups of friends.

So there you have it, some lovely beaches to consider which will leave you wanting to visit for Thailand holidays again and again and help to provide a lifetime of memories!
