Dubai - the ultra-modern and yet traditional city whose opulent skyline rises out of the seemingly lifeless and arid terrain of the Arabian Desert and whose manmade islands stretch out into the Arabian Gulf, has made it to our bucket list.

Now all we must do is decide how to spend our time when we get there. Or not. Why can’t we just do nothing but lie on the beach? Why can we not just enjoy this timeless indulgence? This simple holiday pastime taps into our sense of relaxation and escapism.

As we lay ourselves down on the sun-kissed shores, we embrace the sun as our companion, casting a warm and radiant glow on our skin. Its gentle touch invites a leisurely drift between wakefulness, napping, snoozing, and daydreaming. The sounds of the ocean’s waves gently tapping the shoreline, the scent of salt in the air and the ebb and flow of the tide create a harmonious beachside soundtrack and the scene is set.

Why can’t we just stay here? We absolutely can.

And Dubai has several beaches and beach clubs for us to choose from. Beach clubs usually sell day passes, and memberships, or require reservations for access.

Here are a few to look at:

Al Mamzar Beach Club
Close to the neighbouring Sharjah, Al Mamzar Beach Club is a beautiful sandy beach with crystal clear water and the park also has picnic areas, playgrounds and barbecue facilities.

White Beach Dubai
This beach club is part of the Atlantis, the Palm resort. A stylish beach club with a stunning beachfront setting that offers access to a swimming pool and a variety of food and beverage options.

Jumeirah Beach
Located along the coast of the Jumeirah district, this is one of the most popular beaches in Dubai offering a white sandy beach and fantastic views of the iconic Burj Al Arab hotel.

Nikki Beach Dubai
This is a renowned beach club located at Pearl Jumeirah. It is known for its luxurious lively atmosphere and offers access to a swimming pool, beach cabanas and a selection of different dining options.

Kite Beach
Kite Beach is known for its water sports activities and, as its name suggests, it is popular with kite surfers. It is located near the Jumeirah Beach Residences (JBR) and there are also numerous cafes and food stalls along the beach.

Sunset Beach
This beach is located near Umm Suqeim Park and is also known as Umm Suqeim Beach. It offers stunning views of the Burj Al Arab and is a popular spot for sunset watching, hence its name.

Black Palace Beach
This is a secluded and serene spot near Al Sufouh. This hidden gem offers breathtaking views of the Dubai Marina skyline and is the ultimate spot for a quiet and peaceful beach day.

Lying on a beach isn’t just an act. It is an art form! It is therapeutic. It is a communion with nature. It’s a reminder of the vastness of the ocean and the world that stretches out before you. It relaxes and rejuvenates the body, mind and soul. It is pure bliss. Why not give it a go on Dubai holidays with Teletext?
