The Teletext Holidays team has just arrived back on UK soil after a fabulous sun-soaked trip to Gran Canaria with Gaydio, to celebrate Maspalomas Winter Pride 2018. As I am sure you already know, Teletext Holidays, are the proud sponsors of the breakfast show on Gaydio, serving up a healthy dose of beach alongside your favourite beats, weekdays from 7am. If anyone can think of a better way to experience Europe’s favourite gay destination, than during Pride week, we would love to know! 

The sharp-eared amongst you may have noticed that Jessie and Matt, the fun-loving presenters of the morning show, broadcasted live from Playa del Ingles on the 7^thand the 8^th November, in the run up to the Pride festivities.

“We wanted to bring the destination to life for all of our listeners; Jessie and I love Gran Can and Pride, we couldn’t wait to get back out there again,” said Matt. 

The team stayed at Hotel Gold by Marina, a boutique, adult-only hotel in the heart of Playa del Ingles. The hotel was just a five minute walk from the Yumbo Centre, which is where most of the Pride activities take place, so it was a great place to be based. The pool area was lovely, the perfect place to kick back with a pina colada and the internal atrium in the middle of the hotel is very insta-worthy. 

The team were joined by two deserving competition winners for the trip, Jonathan and Gregor, whom had recently got engaged. We all had such fun riding a camel across the Maspalomas dunes and we even found ourselves on a yellow submarine tour, yes, I did say a yellow submarine! It turns out there is more to do in Maspalomas than you might think.

The main reason for our trip was to check out the Pride festivities and they definitely did not disappoint. We spent most of our evenings in the square in the Yumbo centre, as this is where the evening performances take place. We also attended yet another sell out Wet and White party at the Amadores Beach Club, it was our favourite part of the trip, we would go back next year just for that event!
