With warm temperatures all year round, spectacular Caribbean beaches and plenty to do, it’s no wonder Cancun is a popular holiday destination. It offers the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure, and with so much to do, it’s a great holiday for couples and families alike.
One of Cancun’s premier all-inclusive beach resorts, 5* Moon Palace Cancun sits on Mexico’s stunning Caribbean coast and is home to more than 10 swimming pools, 20 places to eat and drink, a golf course and several spas. The bedrooms are luxurious, and include exciting features as standard including a huge Jacuzzi bath and full size optics, meaning you can mix up your own cocktails from dawn to dusk!
Meanwhile, foodies will love the variety, in fact you could dine somewhere different every day! Many of the restaurants are themed and include an Italian stone baked pizza restaurant, gastronomic Mexican, Brazilian churrascaria, steakhouse and Asian teppanyaki. There are also some chic bars including the Sky Bar, which serves up tasty cocktails in the evenings. If you’re visiting as a family, you'll never be bored! Moon Palace has a huge schedule of entertainment including kids and teens clubs, live performances, games on the beach and a miniature golf course. Plus, you can buy day passes to visit the Grand section where you'll find an awesome new waterpark and a bowling alley.
ENJOY THE BEACHES
You’ll want to dive straight in when you see the bright turquoise Caribbean waters in Cancun. Most resorts in the region, such as Moon Palace, have their own stretch of white sandy beach. Feeling adventurous? Parasail along the coastline, hop on a jet ski or try your hand at stand up paddle boarding!
TAKE A DAY TRIP TO ISLA MUJERES
Head off on a day trip with Aquaworld to these beautiful paradise islands just a short hop from Cancun. With a laid back attitude, your biggest stresses will be deciding between mojitos and margaritas on the beach. It’s a vibrant place, with candy coloured buildings and big murals adorning the walls. Once you’re done relaxing, hire a golf buggy to explore the island, or pick up some souvenirs in the shops.
SWIM, SNORKEL OR DIVE IN THE CENOTES
The Yucatan is home to over 6,000 cenotes – magical sinkholes filled with emerald blue water. They’re unique to this region, and there are plenty on the route from Cancun to Tulum, so you really could spend all day swimming, snorkelling and diving.
VISIT ONE OF THE LOCAL ADVENTURE PARKS
This region of Mexico has some great tourist attractions. Adventurers will love Xplor – with its impressive zip lines, ATV adventures and rafting. At Xel-Ha you can float along the lazy river, snorkel with colourful fish in the lagoon, and see dolphins and stingrays up close. In the evenings you can party in the Mexican way at Xoximilco, with a memorable boat ride accompanied by traditional music and food.
GO DIVING AT MUSA
When it comes to unique dive sites, MUSA has to be one of the most incredible! At this underwater sculpture park you can dive past sunken cars, houses and human figures. Alongside plenty of exotic fish, there are chances to see turtles and dolphins too.
PARTY THE NIGHT AWAY AT COCO BONGO
Officially the biggest party in Cancun, Coco Bongo a live show like no other! Featuring a cast of talented performers, the show takes you from Queen to Madonna, The Mask to Tron and involves more confetti than a Royal wedding. Dance the night away, enjoy the all-inclusive drinks and sing your heart out!
EAT, DRINK & RELAX AT A BEACH CLUB
The cute town of Puerto Morelos lies just south of Cancun. With its wonky lighthouse, numerous colourful fishing boats and traditional main square, it’s a lovely place to explore if you fancy a slower pace of life. Nestled along the white sands is Unico Beach, a great beach club with some of the best food in the region. Spend the afternoon drinking cocktails, eating the freshest seafood and catching some rays.
EXPLORE THE ANCIENT MAYAN RUINS AT CHICHEN ITZA OR TULUM
This region of Mexico is home to some of the world’s most impressive archaeological sites. Book a tour to Chichen Itza and marvel at the main pyramid, El Castillo, which dates back to the 7th Century. Or head to Tulum, another ancient Mayan site where the ruins sprawl along the Caribbean coastline. The views are incredible, and in between exploring, you can take a dip in the turquoise ocean.
