SUPER PARADISE BEACH IS ONE OF THE WORLD'S FINEST

tourists enjoying at super paradise beach mykonos greece

A holiday in Mykonos offers a world-class beach scene, with the best of the best known for their huge swathes of sumptuous golden sand, glistening warm, blue waters and fantastic facilities. You'll find the most impressive stretches along the southern coast, with Paradise, Super Paradise, Elia and Lia beaches among the islands favourites. Luxurious resorts, sea-facing hotels, lively beach bars, restaurants and ice-cream parlours can be found just a few steps from the sand, making beach days a popular pastime here. Prefer sunbathing in peace? Agios Stefanos is a small secluded cove not far from Chora but away from the tourist crowd, while breezy Kalafatis is a haven for watersports enthusiasts.

THE SPECTACULAR SUNSETS WILL TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAY... EVERY DAY!

Mykonos is probably better known for being the go-to party island in Greece, but those who’ve visited it swear by its absolute beauty and captivating sunsets, too. And there are wonderful vantage points—from gorgeous beaches and coves to beautiful old town terraces, the balconies of Little Venice and views from Mykonos harbour. The beaches of Agios Ioannis and Kapari, though small, offer a spectacular visual delight as the light changes with the setting sun. Little Venice has colourful houses perched over a cliff and the balconies here are amazing if you want panoramic views of the perfect tangerine sunset. For a more romantic setting, head to any of the lovely little taverns overlooking the Aegean Sea or sit by the harbour and relish the sunset with a delicious Greek meze and local wine.

IT IS THE PLAYGROUND OF THE RICH AND FAMOUS

Mykonos’ ultra fun vibes don't just attract holidaymakers from around the world... the rich and famous frequently flock to the Greek island for the most glamorous of R&R in a stunning setting. While the well-heeled may escape to their luxurious resorts in secluded corners of the island on arrival, if you keep your eyes and ears open you may well spot them enjoying a quiet evening in top-rated restaurants like Nammos or dancing away the night in a famed nightclub like Void. Celebrities who have been spotted in this beautiful island resort include Ariana Grande, Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton and Mariah Carey. The combination of Mykonos' laidback ambience, soothing sunshine, magnificent scenery and non-intrusive locals are seemingly irresistible no matter your status.

Sample the locally sourced fresh seafood and rich meat dishes drizzled with olive oil, or tempt your palette with the finest renditions of Greece's delicacies, such as soutzoukakia, baklava, grilled octopus and Mykonian honey pie. Savour a helping of hearty moussaka at Madoupa’s Café or head to Kiki’s tavern for its wonderful views, you won’t be disappointed. Fancy something more international? Delos, the birthplace of Apollo, was considered a sacred site by the ancient Greeks and many temples and monuments have subsequently been built there. With structures dating back to multiple eras from the Roman and Byzantine periods, a day trip to explore the ruins of the palaces, battles and monuments is an enthralling step back in time. Taking just 30 minutes by boat from Mykonos, the scenery across the shimmering Aegean Sea and the spellbinding monuments standing proud in this well-preserved open air museum make every minute spent in Mykonos one to remember.

Paradise and Super Paradise Beaches are not only famed in Mykonos, they are considered some of Europe's most iconic nightspots. It is here where many of Mykonos' restaurants, bars and nightclubs have earned a reputation far and wide as the trendiest spots to enjoy a cocktail and a dance. Joints such as Tropicana Beach Bar, Sunrise Paradise, Jackie O Beach and Super Paradise Beach Bars are the ideal places to enjoy pulsing music, notorious DJs and a vibrant atmosphere deep into the night, making a holiday to Mykonos an unforgettable thrill for even the most avid partygoer.

YOU CAN MEET ISLAND ICON PETER THE PELICAN

The winding cobblestone streets of Chora are a must-visit if whitewashed houses, traditional churches and blooming balconies are your thing - but the best part is bumping into its Pink Pelicans. Peter the Pelican has quite rightfully become the islands' much-loved mascot. Folklore goes, an injured bird was rescued by a fisherman who then decided to stay put in this leisurely resort. He went by the name Petros (Peter), and was immensely popular. When the bird died - prompting island-wide mourning - three others took his place including one donated by none other than frequent island visitor Jackie Onassis Kennedy. These birds hang out near Little Venice waterfront and if you’re lucky you can even pet and grab a selfie with them.
