Getting Around
Hop-on-hop-off tour buses are popular in Gozo but car hire is available if you want a little more freedom and flexibility. There are also a range of regular bus services that operate from the island’s capital, Victoria. Ferries are available to take you between Gozo and Malta, with boats also running to the sister island of Comino. Taxis are plentiful, and scooters and motorbikes can also be hired.

Brave the Caves
As a by-product of two caves collapsing, the Inland Sea can be found in the Dwejra area of Gozo, and is predominantly used by bathers and snorkellers. The water is astounding and the tunnel, which connects the caves with the Med beyond, is popular with scuba divers. Many of the isle's day boat trips will take you through the caves, so remember to pack your camera.
Sensational Snorkelling
The island is best appreciated from the water, whether you are snorkelling, diving or taking a magical trip around the coastline. Mgarr ix-Xini entices tourists with its clear waters and scenic surroundings and is the best beach for snorkelling in Gozo.
Dive into the Blue Hole
Located next to the Azure Window, the Blue Hole is one of Gozo’s favoured diving and snorkelling spots. This natural rock formation includes a large cavern for scuba divers. One of the most scenic parts of the coast, don't forget your camera for this one!
Gozo by Segway
Take the coolest ride around the sights of Gozo on a Segway. Easy to learn and fun to drive, you can glide around the waterfront without getting tired feet. Teenagers will have a ball and the whole family can enjoy tours around the beach promenades and town. Local guides can segway with you on a tour of all the best bits.
Discover the Ramla Beach
Many of the beaches in Gozo have pebbles but Ir-Ramla il-Hamra stands out as the longest and sandiest. Fine, reddish sand covers the stretch of beach and it's a popular spot for sun worshippers who can bronze on the soft sands and then take a dip in the clear sea. The beach kiosks have plenty of ice creams to cool you down as well.
Wander the Streets of Victoria
Named in honour of Queen Victoria, but also known as Rabat, Victoria is the capital of Gozo, and sits in the heart of the island. There is a wealth of history and heritage to discover, including the breathtaking medieval church of St. George Martyr (AKA St George Basilica), and for shoppers, this is a great place for picking up local crafts and trinkets.
Relax in Marsalforn
Marsalforn is the most popular summer resort on the island, even with the locals. Hundreds of Maltese and Gozitan families make this their summer home, due in part to the amazing waters and great beaches. Marsalforn has several beaches for swimming, sunbathing and snorkelling and the waterfront has restaurants and bars serving delicious Maltese cuisine.
