Things To Keep In Mind

A lovely place with an impressive view over the Atlas mountains.
A very attentive and caring staff, amazing food and an exceptional Iftar for the breaking of the fast.
Fresh air and greenery, I highly recommend Sumahan for a relaxing stay away from the city, immersed in nature.
Suites are very comfortable and spacious.
Nearby is a charming douar where you can discover the local culture and life style.
I will come back for sure.

Great great place to stay. Definitely recommend staying here. Very calm and quiet place outside the Marrakech rush. Staff was very polite and helpful and spoke English as well. Very nice and spacious room with an oriental touch! Everything was clean and tidy. The whole complex is very nice and has a very big garden. Breakfast was plenty and tasty. It is about a 30 minute drive from Marrakech Center, so you’ll need some sort of transportation. We had a rental car.

This hotel was one, big, huge, dissapointment unfortunately.
We booked through Secret Escapes.
From the moment we arrived things went wrong. We were shown to our room, it was lovely and spacious however the floor was dirty, as was the sofa & chairs, there were hairs and all sorts. I went to take a shower and there was no hot water, also no WiFi. We used the toilet once and it broke. The hotel manager said we could swap rooms, so we did, but there wasn't much improvement, the new room was even more dirty than the first one. It even had bird's poo on the table. The shower was a slight improvement, but wouldn't maintain the same temperature and kept going cold/hot. The shower floor was broken, and had the sharp broken pieces still on the floor. Again the toilet broke and wouldn't flush.
However the WiFi was now working!
Our booking confirmation said the hotel run a free shuttle to & from Marrakech. The hotel manager said this was wrong and said we had to pay 35 euros for a taxi. We were also promised a bottle of wine in our room on arrival. Needless to say this didn't happen either. Nor were we given any water, and when I asked, I found out at the end of our stay we'd been charged for every bottle of water we asked for!
My partner, bless her, recleaned the 2 rooms we stayed in, as they were so dirty. We raised all this with the hotel manager, whi didn't smile once the whole time we were there, and got angry when I suggested we shoud be given the water for free as a good will gesture. He took no responsibility for what happened, and blamed Secret Escapes in any way he could.
We ended up checking out 1 day early and staying somewhere else. Probably the worst hotel I've every stayed in.
However, I'll finish on a positive note; All the staff (apart from the manager) were lovely and helpful, and the breakfast each morning was faboulous.

Faisal Hotel Manager was superb, we had the tinist issue on arrival and it was sorted way beyond our expectations, fab start.

Also awesome were Abderahim ( my favourite for fun, he made me laugh which I love to do), Khalid, Zacharia, Oujid (sorry about spelling) . ALL staff superb but my friend and I had most contact with these fantastic guys who couldn't do enough for us. Had an amazing Hammam with Fatima in the spa. She was wonderful, she had very little English but we got along with plenty of hand gestures, we laughed a lot.

Food freshly cooked and delicious.

A 25 minute taxi ride from Marrakech which worked out fine for us (we only went twice) as we much preferred being at the Sumahan with its stunning views and frankly, being treated like Queens.  Best way to celebrate my friends 60th and would 100% return.

Date of stay 28 Feb to 4 March.  Not long enough!
