We stayed at this hotel for 10 days as a family — myself, my husband, and our 9-year-old daughter. We chose this resort based on the positive reviews and its 5-star rating, so we arrived with high expectations. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t quite match what we anticipated from a hotel of this category.

The rooms are spacious, which we appreciated, but they felt somewhat outdated and could benefit from renovation. The pools are a good size and the water temperature was pleasant, but we noticed that they became quite dirty throughout the day. There were no showers or foot-washing stations available before entering the pool, which might have contributed to this issue.

One of the biggest disappointments was the advertised aquapark. In reality, there are just four slides, and they only operate for limited hours — from 10 AM to 12 PM and then from 2 PM to 4 PM. This limited availability made it difficult for children attending kids’ club or other activities to actually enjoy them. The "crazy river" was not functioning properly, with the upper entrance closed and access only via a rocky barrier. Guests often got stuck and needed staff assistance to move along. The lazy river also lacked sufficient water flow to work as intended.

At the main pool bar, staffing seemed insufficient, leading to long queues throughout the day. At times, there was even a shortage of ice for drinks. Similarly, we noticed a lack of cleaning in the common areas during the day — empty glasses and cups were often left unattended, and by evening, the pool area looked quite untidy.

Food-wise, the selection was average and somewhat repetitive. The layout of the main restaurant wasn’t ideal; the entrance area became very crowded as it was also where guests queued for food. Finding indoor seating was often a challenge, and service was minimal — on most days, no one came to offer drinks during dinner, and tables were not cleared promptly. It also stood out that staff frequently used their mobile phones in front of guests, which didn’t reflect the standards expected in a 5-star establishment.

There was an afternoon pasta station near the beach, which sounded promising but was poorly managed. One staff member was responsible for cooking everything fresh, leading to very long wait times. On more than one occasion, ingredients ran out or the cooking station had no fire, which meant guests had to leave without being served.

Overall, I would rate this hotel as a 3 or 4-star property. It has potential, especially with its spacious layout and pool facilities, but there’s a clear need for better management, more attentive service, and improved upkeep. With some focused improvements, it could offer a much better guest experience.

Massive, massive let down!!! Would not return.

We arrived at around 1:00 in the morning, got checked in and went to our room. The room itself is very run down, dirty and just altogether not very nice. We didn’t have any bed sheets, more just the ones that go on top of the bed for aesthetics, and the bed itself was what I can only describe as sleeping on a prison bed. The first night was the worst night’s sleep I’ve ever had. Also, there are no blackout blinds, so if you have kids, expect them to be up at sunrise.

The hotel itself is nice, right on the beach, and the pools are nice. The slides are mediocre and the top slides take about 3 business days to get to, and on the way up the stairs are filthy.

There are some really nice staff but, to be honest, most of them look miserable and when serving look like they don’t want to be there. Also, barely any of them speak English, so getting any requests across is very hard work.

The entertainment team you barely see, and you don’t usually know something is happening until you see it going on, like water polo etc. It’s not like they come and try to get you involved.

The food is very, very boring. Probably after the 2nd night we were bored. They don’t do any themed nights; it’s basically exactly the same thing every night. And expect long, long queues for literally anything—breakfast pancakes, omelettes, drinks, dinner, everything—and the staff see long queues and almost seem to give zero shits and go slower if anything.

Also, good luck getting a table at breakfast and dinner. It is always busy and the tables are always taken. The staff basically don’t clear your plates either until you’re done, so you are sitting with dirty plates throughout the meal and no one ever offers you drinks.

After dinner they open up again for late evening food, but it’s very uninspiring, nothing substantial, so don’t expect the kids to eat anything after dinner.

Another awful thing was a kid pooed in the pool and on the floor. It took 2 hours for someone to come and clean it. When I told them about the pool, they shrugged their shoulders and walked off—awful and disgusting.

The evening entertainment is substandard—basically crappy dancing and poor-quality shows. After that they have live music by the pool, but it’s basically German singers and every time we went it was awful. So, after the evening entertainment, there is nothing to do and you will be bored.

It also feels as if they cater more towards German clientele and there are barely any English people there.

I have been to Turkey many times and this hotel was run down, poor quality, rude staff and poor entertainment. For the money it cost you can get so much more for your money elsewhere.

We spend 11 days at this hotel, coming from Uk. The amenities are very good and the swimming pool are child friendly and have warm water. The room are very big and the cleaning service is excellent at the rooms. Kid activities are very well organized and the kid entertainers are so polite and kind.

Unfortunately the common areas service at the hotel is not at 5* level. All the bars have queues since even in the main pool bar there is always 1 barman. Main swimming pool sunbeds are so close one to the other that there is not even space to access the pool. Swimming pools are getting quite dirty with multiple cups during the day as well. Also at lunch and dinner, service at the restaurant is very basic, tables are not getting cleaned regularly. Moreover, there is strange kitchen setup which i never seen again in buffet. All the food is cooked outside which cause  both the kitchen employees and the guests to suffer from the high temperatures. There is high traffic at the the restaurant since people both queing for getting their food and coming in and out of the restaurant at the same main corridor.

we were last year when it was seven seas. this year was great again. the food is amazing, cant get enough. animation and shows for adults and kids are amazing. the beach is beautiful. the rooms are old, but anyway we were outside all day. thanks to berat for the great and friendly service. also thanks to bilal for the best cocktails!

Two years ago, when the hotel was still operating under the name Seven Seas Hotel Blue, we had a wonderful experience, which is why we decided to return — this time with our family and young child. Unfortunately, the current Monachus Hotel was a disappointment in several aspects.

The airport transfer did not show up to pick us up, which made for an unpleasant start to our stay. The atmosphere at the hotel felt more like a children’s summer camp — several sports teams were accommodated at the hotel, and many of them behaved inappropriately, causing loud disturbances, especially in the early morning hours, which made it difficult to rest. We would like to emphasize that we traveled with our own child, so we certainly have no issue with children being present — our concern was the lack of proper behavior and supervision.

The condition of the rooms also left much to be desired — the bathroom ceiling was water-damaged, and overall, the rooms are in need of renovation. In the restaurant, it was clear that there was not enough staff, which sometimes led to long waiting times.

On a positive note, the hotel grounds are beautiful, well-kept, and very clean. There was a wide range of programs and activities offered, and the food selection was generous and delicious — definitely one of the strengths of the hotel.

We truly hope the hotel will return to the high standards we experienced during our first visit.

What a beautiful family resort this is! Just returned home after a 10 night stay. You really couldn’t ask for much more. Engaging and friendly entertainment team, wonderfully kept pools/gardens, trustworthy kids club and a very safe environment. I could write so much about this hotel, from the fantastic coffee at the coffee bar, slides for the kids and even a river rapids which was so fun. Bilal the mixologist wizard at the terrace bar needs a special mention. Puts a smile on your face and creativity into your drinks, make sure you make your way there for a treat! The food is beautiful and the live cooking stations give that little bit extra to meal times. In addition to this, the snacks available such as freshly cooked traditional Turkish pancakes and sweet waffles which my kids loved! I read mixed reviews as it has changed hands recently but you don’t need to worry. Clean private beach with plenty of beds meant you could have a break from the main pools/slides.

We stayed at Monachus Family Resort in Sorgun two years ago, back when it was still part of the Seven Seas group. We had a fantastic experience that still stands out.

The food was amazing, with a great variety and consistently SUPERIOR quality. All the staff were not only extremely polite but seemed to genuinely enjoy their work. Everyone we interacted with spoke good English, which made communication very easy.

Special mentions go to the hotel customer services.

The photo team deserves recognition too. They were not only excellent photographers but also two wonderful brothers who made the experience so enjoyable.

Finally, perhaps the biggest thanks goes to the waiter who went out of his way to make us the best White Russian cocktails, even though it was not on the menu.
