Our stay at Sayanora Hotel was an average experience, with some positives but also several areas that need improvement.

A special mention must go to the receptionist, who was one of the highlights of our stay. He was friendly, welcoming, and always provided good customer service. The housekeeping team also did a great job in keeping the rooms clean and tidy throughout our stay.

The pool areas were well maintained and clean, and we really enjoyed the large bird enclosure, which was a unique and enjoyable feature of the hotel. The waiters and waitresses were also friendly, hardworking, and quick when cleaning and organising the restaurant. However, at times they were too quick to clear plates, which made the dining experience feel slightly rushed, especially when some guests were still finishing their meals.

Unfortunately, there were several disappointing aspects. The air conditioning in our room was not working properly. We were told that a technician would arrive the following day to fix it, but nobody came, and the issue was never resolved. The Wi-Fi was also very poor, with an unreliable connection that made it difficult to use.

The temperature inside the restaurant (cafeteria) was also a major issue. It was extremely hot and uncomfortable, with many guests visibly sweating while trying to eat. The air conditioning units were switched on at times, but they did not seem to make much difference, and the heat remained unbearable. It genuinely felt like you were constantly sweating while having your meals, which made the dining experience very uncomfortable.

The rooms were very basic and did not feel like they offered much in terms of comfort or facilities. The food was also quite disappointing—mediocre and lacking variety, with nothing particularly memorable.

A major concern was the lack of food labelling in the restaurant. None of the dishes had labels, and there was no ingredient or allergen information available. This is a serious issue for guests with allergies or dietary requirements. Although the chefs were helpful when approached, I had to use Google Translate several times to communicate allergy requirements, which could easily be avoided with proper allergen information and clearer communication.

Communication with staff was generally manageable, as many staff members could speak English to some extent, and they were usually willing to help. However, improvements in this area, particularly when dealing with important matters such as food allergies, would be beneficial.

Another issue was regarding the check-out process. We informed reception that we would be checking out at 4pm due to our transfer time. However, we were told that we had to leave our rooms at 12pm, meaning we had to wait for around four hours in the reception area with our luggage before our transfer arrived. This was disappointing, especially as we had already informed the hotel of our planned departure time.

While we were waiting in the reception area for our transfer after checking out, we noticed another family arriving at the hotel who appeared to be unhappy with the condition of their rooms. They raised concerns about their accommodation, which unfortunately reflected some of the same issues we experienced during our stay regarding the basic standard of the rooms.

Overall, the hotel has some excellent staff members, especially Ali, the housekeeping team, and the restaurant staff, who work hard. However, the hotel needs improvements in maintenance, Wi-Fi, food quality, room standards, restaurant temperature control, check-out arrangements, and especially allergen information. With these changes, the overall guest experience could be significantly improved.

when we first arrived we were a tiny bit skeptical as the rooms seemed a little outdated but they were clean so we quickly got over it. the food at the hotel is very very good and the staff is absolutely fantastic. leftover food goes to the stray cats (unless they can’t eat it or it isn’t good for them) ! the hotel is located about a 5-10 minute walk from the beach which is just lovely. i honestly would recommend this hotel if you’re going to Side or planning to visit somewhere nearby. the staff is absolutely lovely and the atmosphere is just super friendly and kind!

Stayed for 4 nights, start of season so was quiet.
Arrived very late with my 17 year old son, we were given a double room (strange considering I'm his dad) asked to change and they said wait til morning, so it was an uncomfortable sleep for me above the blankets so my son could sleep.
Next day it was rectified quickly but ideally shouldn't have happened and left for any duration of time.

The pool was brown as it was only just up and running, first 2 days was completely unusable.
The shower in the room had to be left running for about 15 mins to get any hit water.
The rooms were clean and cleaned everyday so can't fault that side of things, cleaners were lovely and done a really good job.
Staff were good and caring so no complaints there.

Biggest let down was the food, the video reviews posted by someone else are definitely a one off for publicity because it looks nothing like that.
We attempted to eat breakfast on the first day and then went out and paid for one somewhere else.
Lunch and dinner was the same, I ended up just having a couple bits of desert then going out to eat which is awful considering I paid all-inclusive.
They would do spaghetti with a pasta sauce but no mince so half a meal, then they would do chicken in a sweet sauce but no rice so again half a meal.
They have about 8 hot things on offer and they were all pretty bad.
Only nice thing was the puddings but not a very large variety.

All in all, I know it's a budget hotel, I wasn't expecting the ritz, but the food was such a let down.
I wouldn't recommend staying here unless it's room only and you go out to eat each day.

Very nice place, accommodation is modest, suitable for people who want a quieter stay. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, we have never experienced such an approach on any holiday. Many thanks to the waiter Salih, he took care of us like princesses.

This is our second year at Sayonara Hotel and we are definitive coming back.
All service and all personal is great and serviceminded. At the poolbar (Sayonara Park) it was Salih who was the star⭐. Great guy who always serves us drinks.
