Sandals Montego Bay
A world of luxury and comfort awaits guests to Sandals Montego Bay, a 5-star all inclusive resort that covers everything from airport transfers to scuba diving courses. The adults only resort was the first of the Sandals resorts to open in 1981, and today it’s the company’s flagship location. This means that those checking in to Sandals Montego Bay will be treated to access to a private white-sand Jamaican beach, as well as unlimited gourmet dining in a dozen restaurants and luxurious ocean-front accommodation. Recent additions to Sandals Montego Bay include an over-water bar with 360° ocean views, plus an over-the-water wedding chapel, while other world-class facilities include a spa, fitness centre and six swimming pools.
At Sandals Montego Bay you are at the heart of Caribbean luxury. Its location just a short drive away from Sangster International Airport cuts down on long journey times, meaning you can go from plane to pool in next to no time. Sun worshippers and those looking for relaxation will love the resort’s location just metres away from the idyllic beach, while there’s plenty on-site to keep guests going from morning until night. Round-trip transportation is provided between Sandals Montego Bay and Sandals Royal Caribbean, just a 7-minute drive away, allowing guests to use the facilities at both. Meanwhile, Montego Bay - with its array of shops, cafes and quaint buildings - can be reached within a 16-minute drive, while other nearby areas of interest include Half Moon Golf course, Rocklands Bird Sanctuary and Rose Hall Great House, an 18th century restored Georgian mansion on a former plantation.
With 250 air-conditioned rooms available, there’s accommodation to suit all occasions and budgets. Rooms are luxuriously decorated with light, calming colours, accented by Colonial-inspired mahogany furnishings. Facilities include a fridge, LED TV, coffee/tea machine, in-room safe, iPod docking station, en-suite facilities and premium bedding. Cosy Deluxe Rooms have a grand four-poster bed, and there’s also the option to upgrade to a room with an ocean or pool view. Honeymoon rooms, beachfront villas and suites with a multitude of extra features are available, as well as a beachfront one-bedroom butler suite which contains direct access to a pool, an elegant living area and a Tranquility Soaking Tub for two.
Food and Drink
There are 12 gourmet restaurants at Sandals Montego Bay, each bringing an exotic mix of flavours to the fore. There’s something for every type of craving, from Parisian masterpieces at the French cafe to a seaside bar and grill, British pub, Japanese eatery and traditional Jamaican dishes in the Oleander Room. Whether you’re after a casual bite to eat or a fine-dining experience, there’s something for you here. The resort’s exchange programme also allows guests to dine at the nearby Sandals Royal Caribbean hotel too - tuck into Thai, be romanced in Le Jardinier’s courtyard restaurant, or sample an array of local dishes at Eleanor’s Pan-Caribbean eatery.
Sports, Games and Entertainment
Whether you’re a land-lover or a sea-adventurer, there’s entertainment and activities to cater for all. Spa treatments can be enjoyed at the on-site Red Lane Spa, which also harbours plunge pools, a steam room, beauty salon and a Yoga-Pilates studio. Other activities include tennis, pool tables, lawn chess and croquet; not to mention the seven swimming pools to cool down in. The resort also offers complimentary scuba diving, snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding, amongst many other water-based activities. In the evening the resort comes to life with flamboyant beach parties and themed evenings - as well as the multiple indoor and outdoor bars which offer up a concoction of favourite cocktails and premium spirits.
