Saint Star Kemer: A thorough disappointment

As someone who's been looking forward to the well-known Turkish hospitality, food, coffee and culture, Saint Star Kemer left A LOT TO BE DESIRED.

-First up, the hotel itself. The location is in the close proximity to the centre, yes, but it is almost 3 kilometers away from the beach, and you will absolutely need to take the beach shuttle to it, which is also a different problem altogether. The hotel is made to look expensive, but is extremely cheaply made. The walls are thin and hollow, the faucets do not work properly (there is a 10-20 second delay after you turn down or up the hot water, and the faucet feels random: you'll sometimes get piping hot water when it's turned to cold) and sometimes you won't even have any water. When you do have it, the pressure is so weak that you'll barely be able yo wash yourself. The king-sized bed isn't a single frame-single mattress, but rather two beds stuck together with two separate mattresses that KEEP GETTING SEPARATED, so, if you intend on hugging or cuddling, tough luck, you won't be able to do it, Plus, they wouldn't even spare us toilet paper, we had to buy it ourselves from the market. Generally, the entire place feels like a paper tiger.

-Second: The staff. The only two people speaking English well enough so you can communicate with them are the two women working at the reception, nobody else. The staff is very unpleasant, they are constantly annoyed by requests, they don't care about their guests and feel bored. The only person that was pleasant was the girl at the reception bar which, despite her lack of English, was always enthusiastic, always tried to communicate and was actually helpful. The male staff is also especially unpleasant to women, going so far that they're reluctant to shake hands.

-Third: Food. For the most part it was bland and tasteless, especially the dinner and the dessert which literally tasted like it was 3d printed (cakes only, the baklavas and kalburabasti were good). American pancakes and those fried doughnuts that you get for breakfast are good, but that's it.

-Fourth: The drinks. Everything is extremely cheap, the cocktails are more like "pretend cocktails" that look like the real deal but taste nothing like it. Also half of them aren't even available and there's a constant shortage of juices and sodas. Oh, and the advertised minibar is only for water. If you want juices or alcohol you'll have to buy it yourself from a store, and you'll have to stock up the free water from the lobby yourself, they don't do it for you.

-Fifth: Beach shuttles. They are always 10-25 minutes early and are always VERY OVERCROWDED, to the point that it's unbearable. You have only four boarding times to the beach and only three back to the hotel, which makes it even worse because if you miss it, and you will because they're 10-25 minutes early compared to the written time - tough luck.

All in all, this hotel feels like a two-star hotel that has been "facelifted" to a four star hotel, but only so that it can have those stars on paper.

Would not recommend.

ADDITIONAL:

Since Saint Star responded, it's only fair to clear something:

We asked for toilet paper at the lobby three times, the third time we asked we got an answer:

NYET NYET (gibberish) ENERGY (gibberish), NYET TOILET PAPER.

After that we just quit asking about anything because it was evident nobody cared about our comfort.

During our stay, one thing really stood out, and unfortunately not in a good way. We repeatedly witnessed managers shouting at employees in front of guests. I understand that mistakes can happen and staff sometimes need guidance, but publicly yelling at employees is never acceptable. This was not an isolated incident - we saw it happen multiple times throughout our stay.

It created a very uncomfortable atmosphere and made us feel sorry for the staff. Employees deserve to be treated with respect, especially in front of guests. A hotel’s service is not only about the facilities but also about the working environment and the way people are treated.

I sincerely hope the management reflects on this and chooses a more respectful way to communicate with their employees in the future. Because of this, I would think twice before returning, despite the other positive aspects of the hotel.

We have been staying at the hotel since May 13, 2026, and we are absolutely delighted with the service. We had some issues with the air conditioning, and they fixed it right away. The rooms are gorgeous, everything is clean. The food is excellent. We're thrilled, it was a great upgrade, thanks to the Saint Star Hotel.😍😍😍😍

Saint Star Hotel left rather average and in many ways disappointing impressions. If you are looking for a place to enjoy diverse and high-quality food, this hotel will most likely not meet your expectations. The food selection is very limited, the menu repeats constantly, and the quality is poor – more disappointing than tasty. After just a few days, the meals become monotonous and feel more like a necessity than something to enjoy.

The atmosphere was also not particularly pleasant. The hotel is packed with Russian tourists, and in the evenings there is only loud Russian music, played at a volume that suggests no one cares about the comfort of other guests. If you prefer a calmer environment or simply don’t want to listen to blasting music every night, make sure to bring earplugs – without them, your holiday may easily turn sleepless.

Service was another weak point. The general attitude felt indifferent and unhelpful, with little effort to provide assistance or create a welcoming atmosphere. When asking for help or information, answers were often unuseful, or staff only reacted after repeated requests. Instead of feeling like a valued guest, it often felt like being an inconvenience.

That said, there are some positives worth mentioning. The airport is located nearby, which makes travel more convenient, especially after a long flight. Shops are also within easy reach, which is practical if you need to buy something quickly or stock up on drinks and snacks. The room itself was more or less okay – nothing special, but acceptable if you keep your expectations modest.

In conclusion, Saint Star Hotel might suit those who mainly care about a lower price and convenient location. However, if you value good service, quality food, and a pleasant evening atmosphere, you may want to consider another option. This place can work if you are ready to spend your nights with earplugs and don’t set the bar too high.

I spent a wonderful week at this adults-only all-inclusive hotel in Turkey and was very satisfied with my stay. Although it’s an economy-class hotel, the service and experience exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious with a wide variety of choices at every meal. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and always ready to help.
The gym was well-equipped, which I appreciated, and it was often quiet. However, it seemed like it was not checked often, and unfortunately, some of the machines were a bit loose and would benefit from regular maintenance. It would also be great if the gym could be cleaned more frequently and if the water fridge could be refilled regularly.
The beach is a bit of a distance from the hotel, but the shuttle schedule is clearly displayed and easy to plan around. There’s also a bar near the beach with drinks and food available.
Overall, I had a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. The hotel offers great value for money, and I would happily recommend it to others looking for a peaceful getaway.
