During my recent stay at the Royal Taj Mahal Hotel in Side, I was truly impressed by every aspect of the experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff welcomed me with genuine warmth and professionalism, making me feel immediately comfortable. The hotel’s architecture and interior design are stunning, combining elegance with a luxurious atmosphere that sets the tone for a memorable holiday.

My room was exceptionally clean, spacious, and beautifully furnished, offering all the amenities I could wish for. The housekeeping team ensured everything remained spotless throughout my stay. The dining options were another highlight—every meal offered a rich variety of fresh, delicious dishes, and the service was consistently attentive. Whether enjoying breakfast or dinner, the quality exceeded my expectations.

The pool area and beach were equally impressive. There were plenty of sunbeds, beautifully maintained grounds, and a relaxing ambiance. The entertainment team also did a fantastic job, providing enjoyable activities without being intrusive.

Overall, everything about the Royal Taj Mahal was excellent. The combination of comfort, service, and atmosphere made it one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I would gladly return and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a perfect vacation.

First and foremost, I would like to highlight the hotel staff, who were absolutely outstanding. The team was extremely helpful, friendly, and consistently attentive. You can clearly see how hard they work every single day, making continuous efforts to ensure guests feel comfortable and welcome. Their dedication, professionalism, and positive attitude made a real difference to our experience, and I sincerely appreciate the effort these people put into their work.

The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent, and the facilities are very well maintained. Everything felt orderly, fresh, and carefully looked after. Another strong point is the food: the variety at breakfast, lunch, and dinner is impressive. It is genuinely impossible not to find something you like—or even something pleasantly surprising—regardless of your tastes. The quality, diversity, and availability of food throughout the day were consistently very good.

We also greatly enjoyed the numerous relaxation areas, including bars, terraces, and the beach zones. The hotel offers many pleasant spaces where you can relax, socialize, or simply enjoy the atmosphere, which contributes a lot to the overall comfort of the stay.

However, as we visited at the end of the year, including the New Year’s Eve celebration, this part of the experience was disappointing. The event was held in the Mombay hall, which felt extremely overcrowded, with heavy, poorly ventilated air. The food was served at a very rushed pace, the dance area was very small, and the overall atmosphere felt far too conservative for a New Year’s Eve party. There was no  real alternative area with different music styles or a more dynamic vibe where guests could truly feel they were celebrating.

That said, being Romanians, we tried to make the best of the situation, kept our sense of humor, and still managed to enjoy ourselves despite the shortcomings.

I
Royal Taj Mahal is a very good hotel with exceptional staff, excellent cleanliness, great facilities, and impressive food diversity. With better planning and a more flexible, vibrant approach to special events like New Year’s Eve, the experience could easily become outstanding in every aspect.

At first glance, the hotel looks very impressive – large, clean, and with nice rooms. The food is generally good and offers a decent variety.

Now to the downsides:
Unfortunately, the hotel is extremely loud. Hard bass and loud music play all day long and even at night, making it nearly impossible to relax. Traveling with a baby and a toddler was very difficult – it was impossible to get them to sleep at the kids’ pool due to the constant noise.

In the main restaurant, there is chaos: guests walk around in all directions, it feels uncoordinated, and people constantly bump into each other. Even the staff (chefs and waiters) walk through the crowds with their phones in front of their faces, which leaves a bad impression.

The facilities for children are very disappointing:
•	The advertised playground basically doesn’t exist. At the beach, there are only a few old plastic toys, nothing special.
•	The kids’ pool is just a plain rectangle with two water mushrooms – no slides, no toys, nothing exciting.
•	The mini club is located in a dark underpass to the aquapark, very small, with just a few tables for drawing and a plastic seesaw. Our child was scared there. Also, children under 7 are not allowed to stay without parents.

On top of that, an absolute no-go: At 11 a.m., right at the kids’ pool when children are playing or napping, the hedges were trimmed with petrol-powered chainsaws. In other hotels, such work is done at times when no guests are nearby.

One positive highlight was the mini disco: the two entertainers did a fantastic job, the kids really enjoyed it and had lots of fun.

The main pool is overcrowded – you can only swim early in the morning before it fills up. Also, there are no permanent lifeguards at the pools. During our one-week stay, we only saw two lifeguards once, walking by with their phones. In other 5-star hotels, lifeguards are always stationed and attentive.

Conclusion:
A visually beautiful hotel with good food, but poorly organized, far too noisy, not truly child-friendly, and with questionable management decisions. For families with young children, it is definitely not recommended.

A very nice hotel. very welcoming people, many activities, for all types of people. I have only good words with one exception that I would have liked the pools to be open longer until about 10 or 11 pm otherwise I can only have good things to say.

This is our fourth time visiting as a family, and we absolutely love this place! The staff are friendly, the food is fantastic, and the facilities and service are all top-notch. Our rooms are spacious, and the cleaning team does an amazing job every day — every detail is perfect.

A special shoutout to Tolga from the entertainment team, who always makes our stay extra memorable. We’re always sad to say goodbye to him! Osman at the shisha bar is also fantastic, offering some of the best shisha/hookahs we’ve ever tried.

The hotel’s location is perfect — surrounded by shops and close to popular sites like Side. Taxis are easy to find right outside, or you can simply ask at reception.

If there’s one small improvement to suggest, it would be to add more shade near the kids’ pool as it can be hard to find shade for small children even with the sunbed umbrellas.

Overall, an amazing stay that we look forward to every time!

Also to mention after reading some other British reviews, we are a British family and found no issue with language or with the German people that stay at the hotel. If you’re friendly to people they will be friendly back we always find.

The walls are thinner than paper! We’ve had zero sleep since arriving.

On our first night, the neighbors’ kid screamed all night and morning. My husband spoke with reception if there is any chance to move to a calmer corner of hotel, and they told us that the family would leave that day, and no new families would be assigned to the nearby rooms.

Well, guess what? On the second night, around 2:00 AM, they brought in new guests next door — and these guests were loudly lecturing each other until 3:00 AM. I went to the reception, and the staff member started complaining about how hard his job is and that it’s his last week there(!). His “solution” was for us to change rooms in the morning, since we’re staying for several more nights, however, considering they clearly have no actual preparation and plans for rooms, I didn’t agree with his idea and he came upstairs with me to talk to new guests!

Another hour later, at 4:00 AM, my husband had to knock on the neighbors’ door himself to ask them to quiet down. Their response? “We didn’t realize the walls were so thin and we are loud!” I have no idea then what the reception guy did when he approached them!!!

It’s our second morning here, and we’re completely exhausted. We came here to relax, but instead, we’ve wasted our time, money, and energy on sleepless nights.

Avoid this hotel if you actually want to rest and enjoy— it’s absolutely not worth it.

Perfect family holiday! The hotel offers everything you need – clean and comfortable rooms, a delicious buffet with plenty of choice, and very friendly staff. The beach and pools are great for relaxing, while the aqua park and luna park are ideal for children and adults to have fun together. A wonderful place for families, we would definitely come back!
