We really enjoyed our stay at Riu Festival. The room was spotlessly cleaned every day. Food was tasteful and well presented,  the waitresses were attentive and friendly. Location was convenient for the beach, promenade and sightseeing. The reception team was very helpful. Many thanks to Miguel for understanding and dealing with our request. Definitely recommend this hotel, 5 stars.

We booked and paid for this hotel from  since August. We arrived at the hotel to be told they are over booked and put us in another hotel. Staff was rude and had no consideration for the inconvenience. No prior warning or notification was given to myself or even the agency. No compensation for the huge inconvenience was given and was told to take it up with who we booked with. I have traveled alot of places as you can see in my reviews and Will never book Riu company again. Ruined our holiday and a birthday celebration.

Beware, although the website clearly says rooms are air conditioned, this is only the case during summer season and their central ac is not in fact turned on at all in april even though the room gets very warm.
Big cons: there is no sound proofing towards other rooms and the hallway whatsoever and you can hear other people snoring, walking in the hallway, talking, using the tv in their room. Don't come here without ear plugs and certainly don't expect any real privacy.
There is no real door to the bathroom, only a sliding glass door, so naturally no sound proofing there either or privacy.
There are two elevators, however they are the smallest I've ever seen and fit max 6 people (per instructions and less if these people are bigger). When one of them was not functioning for two days straight, there were big queues to say the least.
Other than that we had smaller issues like the beds and pillows not being very comfortable and feeling worn down, someone smoking on their terrace and us getting it into our room, the "duvet" which is just a blanket wrapped in a loose sheet and a broken hair dryer etc, the little things that all add up to comfort being taken away. Pool not heated even if it said on the website was also a letdown.
Pros: the location is very central, although I'm sure in the party season it's less quiet this near the German party area. The buffet is excellent with a large selection and many dishes varying every day. If it wasn't for the buffet we would have been unhappy here. Staff is very friendly and professional in the restaurant.

Overall this feels more like a 3* hotel without a high amount of comfort.
The hotel caters to Germans, so expect 90% of people to talk to you in german first. This was not a con to us really, but expected. The staff knows more Spanish and German than English at times, but it wasn't a problem either.
We would not book here again due to all the issues above, even if the food was a saving grace

Great location. Pool and garden area very well maintained. Good breakfast and dinner with plenty of options. Comfortable bed. The only real issue was the air con. The rooms are far too hot. We asked multiple times for it to be switched on. They apparently only switch it on for a few hours during the day. We then have to open the door in the evening but there’s too much noise. Guest comfort should be a priority.

An excellent hotel, excellent service, food and staff. Nothing was too much to ask. The staff run the hotel like clockwork.

I am bringing my rating down because I discovered I was charged for the minibar despite never using it. This has never happened to me before and I will be sure to check everything before I pay in the future.

Our room was pretty compact but clean and comfortable. The noise isolation is not so good, but people around us were usually quiet so there wasn't too much problem.

On the topic of guests, they were predominantly German and middle-aged (or older). I don't mind, but it creates a particular type of atmosphere.

The con of this hotel is that there are two lifts, both pretty small (4 people feels crowded but they can carry 6 and 8 persons officially). Because of this, we always used the stairs to go down and often to go up as well.

During our stay, there was never a problem to find a place to park the car on the street, but it was late October so your mileage may vary.

The area around the hotel is honestly not great, the beach is nice but it's a typical party town with loud music and drunk people. Let's just say it's less like Canary Islands and more like Benidorm. We spent most of our time exploring the island, so it wasn't that big a problem, but it would have been nice if the area was more suitable for walks and had actually nice places to sit down for a drink etc instead of being whatever that was.

Restaurant is nice food and short walk to the beach.   For what we paid we can’t complain about anything.
