Stay away! This hotel is awful. Very unclean, ants in the bed, cockroach in the room. Staff rude and everything seems too much trouble, like getting fresh towels. Staff refused to move rooms for 2+ days despite the state of the rooms. Half the plug didn’t work and the hotel looks nothing about the pictures. We weren’t finally given another hotel room, which was still equally as bad. We were told to pay 200 euro deposit , however the terms and conditions said it was 50 euros per room, when challenged this , staff dismissed. We were also told someone died in the pool by staff. Please avoid this hotel for your own sake. People trying to get into our room early hours of morning. Self catering facilities are awful, air con doesn’t work well either. Beds are comfy… need I go on?

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well organized. The staff were very friendly and professional throughout our visit. A special thank you to the lady at the reception, who was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful from the moment we arrived. She always had a warm smile and made sure all our questions were answered, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Her excellent service and positive attitude truly made a difference. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to come back again.Location was wonderful it’s so close to everywhere you can walk to center .

I stayed at this hotel a month ago and had a wonderful room with a panoramic view. It was perfectly clean and cozy! Now I'm back again and again in room 59. I thank the hotel management for allowing me to stay in this room again. I want to highlight the excellent work of the reception staff! They are always helpful, and everything is done very quickly and efficiently, always with a smile, and the reception staff is very friendly. Bravo!

This review has taken me a while to conjure up, I have found it nearly impossible to find adequate words to describe the disgrace of this ‘hotel.’ This place is a microcosm of the worst aspects of this reality , I cannot believe that millions of years of human evolution has lead to this place occupying a place on earth.

From the first moment we walked in, we were greeted by a very jolly fellow who demanded 50 euros from each person in every room, amounting to 200 euros per room. This is not how the deposit is supposed to work according to this ‘hotels’ own contract. Furthermore, nothing in this hotel is worth remotely close to 50 euros, 50 euros to this place would lead to exponential levels of improvement. Upon entering the room it was clear that whoever they had hired to clean it had forgotten their bucket of water and soap that day. There are yellow stains on every light switch, which barely illuminate the room. There is mould on the ceiling of the bathroom, there is grease in the shower, there are black worms wriggling in the drain. The curtains and sheets have a lovely marble pattern of every bodily excrement imaginable.

The pool ought to be the 8th wonder of the world, not for its beauty or historical importance but rather the way in which it completely destroys the laws of physics. The ‘liquid’ which occupies the hole of the pool cannot be described as water. I understand pool cleaners may be expensive, hence why one wasn’t seen the whole week, but even if they weren’t  I’d recommend not hiring one as what is going on in that pool is honestly awe inspiring. The water somehow has a consistency of slime, it feels genuinely heavy to swim in, I believe it must be some sort of non- Newtonian fluid.

Cockroaches. The rooms are flooded with cockroaches. Typically you’d expect the staff to be apologetic that the rooms are filled with cockroaches, but in Rio Gardens this is not the case. You bring it up to them and they laugh, there’s nothing they can do. I’d probably laugh too if I was subjected to having work in this place, a cockroach might honestly be a reminder you are still on the planet and haven’t unknowingly slipped into the deep depths of Hell.

The photos you find of the hotel on the internet are false. Not exaggerated, not a trick of the camera but plainly false. There are photos of a pool which doesn’t exist. A bar which is no where to be seen. The photos of the rooms advertised versus what you are subjected to are so far apart it’s genuinely comical.

Whilst my review may sound like a joke, it is not. I have never left a review ever, in fact I had to make a google account to even do this. The only thing I can thank this hotel for is giving me the motivation to rack my brain to find the words to describe this rot hole. Do not stay here if you value any sort of cleanliness, warmness or comfort. If there was an 8th ring of Hell, Rio Gardens Napa would be it.

Perfect for a cheap lads holiday, dirty pool that has never been cleaned, the amount of stuff floating is vile. Many broken things in the room and bugs crawling around the sink. Rooms look quite different from the pictures and you can feel every spring in the mattress. Dont expect quality when staying here
