Pleasantly surprised after reading previous reviews! I found the hotel to be clean but desperately in need of updating in some areas. My room basic but bed comfy, bathroom clean and towels changed as I required. Toilet was wobbly though so a few dicey moments! Food was lukewarm with same choices for breakfast but dinner had different mains with same sides every night. You are paying for a 2 star hotel so don't expect luxury on a budget. Staff were very polite and helpful. Great location to beach, shops and restaurants, it was perfect for my first trip on my own.

I had a mixed experience at the Playamar, I had to complain about noisy guests through the night and the staff moved me to another room which had its own problems. Close to the front of the hotel where you could hear everyone drunk outside shouting. From what I saw that food was very poor, with breakfast included I only ever had an expresso. The first room I was in had no shower curtain or bath plug so the whole bathroom would flood if I tried to take a shower. Positives would be the location, calm peaceful pool with Estrella on tap. I probably wouldn’t stay here again because of these disruptions.

Overall, the hotel is ok, it depends on what you expect. There are some positive  and negative: the room is old and needs renovation, but it was cleaned every day, the air conditioning worked, and the bed and towels were in good condition. The breakfasts is pure, but the dinners is good and different. The location is excellent, and the staff is friendly.

Hotel location is very good. Rooms were basic, our room was on the first floor which was ok, but had to enter not from the hotel's main entrance, but side door on the street, where was smelly bins, even to go to the pool had to use same door on the street. We spent there 8 days, so room service was done only once on Thurs (supposed to be Tues, Thurs & Sat), so had to ask to change towels ourselves. Food was the worst, never had like this before.  Even at 19.00 at the start everything was barely worm, not much choices to eat (lettuce, tomatoes, frozen veg, two type of meat, fries, rice and pizzas). Breakfast same, ate only first morning, then had to go to local cafe for better quality food. Also was shocked that in canteen are using paper cups, rather than using normal cups which they could wash it and reuse it, making even bigger recycling problem in the island. The cutlery and plates were not always properly washed too. Also we had only air con in sitting room only, in master bedroom was nothing , not even the fan , was really hot over the night especially in hot summer nights,  couldn't sleep.

Friendly staff and food is better than I expected. Room is more spacious than I thought especially as travelling alone I booked a single, ended up with a small double.
S'illot has an amazing coastline, resort is more relaxed compared to others on the island.

Just got back from staying in this hotel.i must say if they can cut back in any way possible they will.. the food was generally awful and cold.  For example.. we went down for breakfast when they opened and we were about the 10th people to get there first and the beans were barely luke warm. Some food not even cooked enough.self served drinks in restaurant half of the time wasnt working.. Rooms were in need of modernisation with big gaps in the laminate flooring and stained floors. Cleaners come around daily in all fairness and cleaned rooms and gave fresh towels.the only thing 5 star about this hotel was Amin at the bar. he was a absolute legend and done his upmost best to make our stay as good as possible.
We didn't have air-conditioning the first night because it was broken.. went to see staff at reception and couldn't give us any indication when it would be fixed or any offer of a partial refund after I paid extra for a room with air-conditioning. Plenty to do by the hotel and beach very close by.. my advise is if you do stay here then go self catering
