We stayed at Pierre et Vacances Resort Terrazas Costa del Sol for 4 nights while attending a family wedding nearby, and it was the perfect choice for our family of 5!

Our apartment was just the right size with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a sofa bed, plus a fully equipped self-catering kitchen with all the essentials (plates, cookware, etc.). We loved having a beautiful balcony to sit out on, overlooking the stunning pool area.

The pool itself was a highlight – well maintained and with a poolside bar serving drinks, snacks, and light lunches. The pizzas and nachos were especially delicious! We also tried the breakfast buffet one morning – although there was no live cooking station, it was still very enjoyable with a good selection.

The grounds are beautifully kept, and the views of the Rock of Gibraltar are just breathtaking. A special mention to the reception team – we checked in at 1am, and there was friendly staff available to help us, which made things so easy after a long journey.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely come back. Highly recommend for families looking for comfort, space, and great facilities!

Rooms are nice and spacious and we're clean when we arrived. However, from October, room service is limited and I felt I had to plead for a change of towels and bedding after 5 days - not good when it is still hot and you're staying for more than a week. The location provides amazing views, but you really need a car if you're coming out of season.

We stayed in this apartment expecting the heating system to work properly, but after several days it still hasn’t been fixed. The receptionist was very kind and tried to help, but unfortunately the technician did not fulfill his responsibilities. We were told once that it’s due to Christmas, another time that it would be handled over the weekend, yet during our holiday we are still feeling cold and freezing. We hope the management resolves this issue promptly so future guests don’t face the same problem.

Firstly the hotel is in a great location with spectacular views and central to get to different harbours and beaches if you have a car, it could be quite isolated if you dont have a vehicle. A good walk down to the beach which might be difficult with smaller children, especially on the way back up.
We found the pool cold with the children shivering after been in a while, and the high winds can make this worse. No floats allowed in the pool, balls or other toys and if you leave your loungers to go to your room, you need to be quick before the life guards remove the towels from them.
The pool closes at 8pm sharp- and you will know when its closing as a whistle happy life guard will blow the hell out of his whistle shouting in spanish until you move (limited English spoken by life guards and various staff members).
Good thing about the pool is the size and the view.

We had a large family room for 6, which was a great size. Large living/dining kitchen fitted with dishwasher, hobs and microwave with large fridge freezer.
The hotel could do with some repairs - large cracks on the walls and around the windows and doors, with uneven paths and raised flags throughout the grounds. Slight issue with ants - which appear to come out of the ceiling and floors.

Reception staff are nice and welcoming.

BE WARY. Upon arrival we were forced to pay a 200 euro deposit with no prior warning. Rude and condescending staff.

Both rooms we stayed in were infested with ants, hair everywhere and dirty floors.

The utter lack of care or respect the staff hold is shocking.

Also funny that upon reading the reviews, the hotel only replies to their 5 star reviews. Genuinely, please be wary and AVOID THIS HOTEL

I recently stayed at the Pierre & Vacances Resort Terrazas Costa del Sol and overall had a very pleasant experience with a few notable pros and cons to consider before booking.

Positives:

The resort offers spacious, well-laid-out rooms with stunning views of the surrounding landscape – especially from the beautiful terrace gardens which we had. One of the standout features for me was the comfort of the beds.

The staff were outstanding – professional, and very quick to help. I had an issue with a broken shower head and it was replaced within 15 minutes of speaking to reception, which really impressed me.

There’s a good-sized pool that was never too crowded but if the kids get a little too much there's a great adult only pool which isn't supervised., and the entertainment provided throughout the day and evening added a fun and lively touch to the stay. Also, I must mention the delicious fresh croissants from the on-site shop – a perfect start to each morning.

Negatives:

That said, there are a few downsides worth mentioning. Firstly There was a strong smell of sewage in our apartment and i heard from other guests they smelt the same. There’s no cleaning service during your stay – you’re expected to clean the apartment yourself, which might not be ideal for everyone, especially during longer stays. Also, the kitchen was under-equipped, with a limited selection of utensils, which made self-catering a bit of a challenge.

Location-wise, the resort is quite remote. It’s a 30-minute walk to the beach, and the walk includes crossing a motorway, which isn’t safe. While this might be manageable for some, it’s worth noting that no shuttle bus was provided during our September stay, so having a car is pretty much essential unless you’re willing to rely on taxis.

The on-site shop is handy but has a very limited selection and closes for long periods during the day (1:30–5:30pm, and again at 8:30pm), which made planning a bit tricky. Additionally, all hotel facilities shut at 11pm, so if you’re looking for late-night activities or a nightcap, you’ll need to venture off-site.

Overall:

Despite some logistical challenges, Pierre & Vacances Terrazas Costa del Sol is a lovely resort with great staff, beautiful surroundings, and comfortable accommodation. It’s a great choice for those with a car who are looking for a relaxing base to explore the Costa del Sol. Just be prepared for a bit of self-sufficiency during your stay.

Additional facilities such as auditorium, TV lounge and a bar can also be found. All apartments have a fully equipped kitchen with four ceramic hot plates, a refrigerator and microwave. Dishwasher, tea and coffee making facilities and an electric kettle are also on offer. The apartments have satellite TV with international channels, individually regulated air conditioning, heating and a terrace with garden furniture. The en suite bathrooms are fitted with a bath.
