I stayed at the hotel for 16 days in January. The food was plentiful, the service was attentive, the hotel environment was beautiful, and staff cleaned and maintained the premises daily. Freshly squeezed orange juice was served at breakfast. I highly recommend it.

For the price we paid can't fault it.
Spending New year in Greeks island or Canaries would require to multiply our price X3
Not a massive choice off food yes but it's enough for majority and always taste and fresh. More than enough to keep us all happy.
Beds are really so so good, very comfy, and guest rooms cleaned daily.
Hotel situated in peaceful location , just outside off town centre, very nice and extremely well maintained garden.
We had a good and quality time in Tunisia.
Unfortunately outside your room Tunisia in general screams for a deep clean.
Hotel Staff are there for the job but not so keen on cleaning or raising standards, I noticed it could be in there coulture.
We noticed lots off rubbish thrown out everywhere even the beach outside hotel.
Management doing there bits right as you see bored cleaners here and there but unfortunately they not doing it right in return.
If the price next year stay same or on similar level we will definitely return to Occidental Marhaba.

I loved my time at this hotel as all the staff were lovely so I hope to come back in the summer and stay again. However there is 2 improvements I would make:
1. The snacks in the day after the buffet dinner has finished are absolutely terrierible. Cold greasy chips, tomato sauce and cucumber sandwiches and cold turkey fingers. Please do better! The deserts and ice cream were great but when you're coming in from travelling for hours and you've missed dinner you'd hope to have a bit better than this. It's basically inedible!
2. As we visited in winter we went to try out the indoor pool but it was in need of a good scrub down. The floor was covered in grey dirty water and the pool tiles were tiny so it's obviously hard to keep up with keeping it clean and so the grout was pretty gross. I would recommend redoing the pool with larger tiles so it's easier to keep clean. Also it says it's a heated pool but it's pretty cold in my opinion

Other than this the hotel is great, it's spacious, clean and very beautiful.

Lovely hotel, good choice of food, staff very pleasant. Evening entertainment was good. We paid extra for a sea view and it was well worth it. 5 min walk through the grounds to the beach. Has a lovely pool. You can book trips out by speaking to the lovely Lee who explains the trips in detail. We did the Sahara Explorer, it was amazing. Would return to this hotel. Sousse is a beautiful place.

❌first day porter stood in our hotel room and wouldn’t leave, explained we don’t have no cash as we have just landed and we will draw some out for his tip tomorrow as it was like 11pm, he just stood and stared and then said “oh no” and stood for like another minuite
❌dirty bedding, dirty pillows and duvets, went to reception to complain and bedding was changed
❌requested clean towels at 14.00 was told they come around at 15.00, 15.30 came by and no towels were provided, we asked again at 16.00 and was told they’d be up in a second 17.00 came and no towels, we asked again and reception and was told the same thing, towels finally arrived at 17.30, i do not understand how it takes 2.5 hours to give someone two clean towels
❌Rooms aren’t cleaned daily
❓only wine served at pool bar
❌no plug for the bath tub as it was broken
❌something which was strange you can’t help yourself to drinks in the all inclusive you have to wait for a server to come round
❌The staff are only “nice” and give good service if you tip them 247
❌people smoking cigarettes inside
❌Key card deactivated mid stay for some reason, reception “fixed” the card and then the card continued not to work, went back to reception, lady was rude took the card and “fixed again” continued not to work, had to que for 15 minutes (this is at 10pm) to be told that we had to wait for maintenance because something was wrong with our door, questioned why they’d let us walk back and forth multiple times and that it was unacceptable that it was not fixed the 1st time as this was late at night, our belongings and passports are in the room. an hour later the maintenance man let us in and then was working on our door for 10 minutes, had to take it apart, he left and we tried the key card, to our surprise it didn’t work again! luckily we was checking out the next morning so we didn’t bother waiting over an hour for it to be fixed.
❌The indoor pool has very poor hygiene, dirty tissues on the floor, dirty floors, dirty seats and the pool itself was very grubby!
❌The bathrooms in the lobby where the entertainment is are disgusting, i found a dirty pair of underwear on the floor, toilet roll not changed so just empty toilet roll holders on the floor ect.
❌The food, the food is not very nice, they do not have a variety and every day is the same thing for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is ok but again, not varied.
✅On a positive the gardens are very maintained and the outdoors looks gorgeous
✅The beach is connected to the hotel, there is a bar there and sun loungers and staff the only down side to the beach was that it opened at 9.00 and closed at 17.00 so no watching the sun rise or set on the beach however, the sand was lovey
✅good location as we had a KFC, papa johns and many restaurants near our hotel which was a must considering the food.
❌Hallways to rooms had random fold up beds in the hallways, dirty plates/glasses left for days in the hallways, just a bit gross.
❌There is no english channels
❌the wifi is awful, genuinely not even strong enough to hold a WhatsApp call

Honestly i’d say this was a 2/3 star hotel the reception area look lovely when you first arrive however the majority is beyond disappointing. I think if you’re coming, bring lots of cash to tip as that’s the only way you’re getting good customer service, if you can afford eat out a couple of times or the food starts to grate on you and just check the bedding ect. The rating of 4 stars is on the wall outside the hotel and is from 2005, nearly over 20 years ago, i’m not sure how often you have to be inspected in Tunisia however, i’d suggest they get re inspected as it does not reflect the stay.

Had a good stay. Good hotel, not amazing but good. Big pools, staff are friendly and amazing. Good entertainment at night. Food was okay, it could be better. Drink selection was okay, but no premium cocktails available.

Just spent a week at the Occidental Sousse with my husband and two young children. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. The private beach was beautiful with a gorgeous sea. The indoor pool was a favourite for my children. Would like to say a special thank you to Fadi who works on the reception. He was so helpful and my children (Adam and Amira) loved him. All the staff were really helpful but Fadi was exceptional. The only downside for us was the food, it was very repetitive and we was informed that lunch is from 12:30-2:30 however one day we went down at 2pm and were told we are not allowed to sit as the time is almost up. Luckily there is a KFC 3 mins walk from the hotel. Overall we had a lovely stay. Thank you to everyone at the Occidental Sousse.
Just one final point if you do go DO NOT get your pictures taken by click and flash the guy will entice you to get your pictures taken and then you will need to remortgage to buy the photos. Once you say no to buying the photos he will treat you like you’ve killed his cat. I hope he’s not linked to the hotel and is an outsider.

If you choose this hotel, you won't be disappointed. I spent there 10 days and I only have good things to say. Staff members are working really hard to maintain this place clean. Food is international, so you won't be hungry if you are from Europe. Ambient is breathtaking, palms are making this place feel like magic. I also liked white aesthetic of restaurant. I want to compliment animation team also, they are fun. The beach has white sand and is very well maintained. Worth the money for sure.

We stayed at this hotel for new year and though there was lack of kids club the evening entertainment was good. If Staying at the hotel or nearby i would recommend doing your excursions with Atif great guy and great attention to detail. You can find him on the beach with a sign so can't miss him.
