Me and my wife recently stayed here and Had a great time. The hotel is superb for the money and is spotlessly clean. The staff are great and I would recommend tipping where you can, they deserve the tip anyway but will really look after you if you do. The rooms were spacious and clean , we paid a little extra for the sea view and it was worth it. The view overlooking the greenery of the hotel grounds and then the Mediterranean sea was great. The pool area was clean and tidy, the pool was plenty big enough and warm enough even in May for a swim. The beach is stunning , the only issue is there is beach sellers at the waters edge (not the hotels fault) but security ensure they don't come near the loungers. Like any all inclusive outside of the Canaries, they offer largely local dishes but still have some western dishes for those less adventurous. We never struggled to find something to eat and the food was always really good. The area of Sousse isn't amazing but he hotel is brilliant for the money. If you do want to venture out , I'd recommend booking excursions. You can do this from the hotel, I highly recommend the el jem/monastir trip.

I am very disappointed with my stay at Occidental Sousse Marhaba and, unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel.

We arrived at around 1:00 a.m. after a long journey. Despite arriving so late, we were not offered any food or refreshments. When we asked if it was possible to get something to eat, we were simply told that it was not possible.

When we entered our room, there was an unpleasant musty smell. The minibar was completely empty, with no complimentary drinks at all.

The air conditioning worked very poorly throughout our stay and during the last two days it stopped cooling altogether, despite being switched on. To make matters worse, there was visible mould on the wall next to the air conditioning unit.

The bathroom was also in poor condition. There was mouldy silicone around the corners of the bathtub, and the shower head was dirty and covered with mould.

The food was one of the biggest disappointments. The quality was poor and most of the dishes simply did not taste good.

Housekeeping was also far below expectations. During our 7-night stay, our room was properly cleaned only twice.

The most worrying incident happened on the fourth day. I was suddenly unable to open the safe, so I reported it to reception. A member of staff came to unlock it. The following day I discovered that some cash was missing from my wallet. Not all of it, but a noticeable amount. I had counted my money carefully before, so this was extremely concerning and left me feeling that someone had gained access to my belongings without my permission.

Finally, before our departure, the reception staff assured us several times that we would be able to arrange and pay for a late check-out because our flight was late in the evening. We were specifically told to come back on the day of departure to arrange it. However, when we did exactly that, the reception staff refused our request and were very rude and unhelpful.

Overall, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have had. The poor cleanliness, maintenance issues, low-quality food, lack of customer service, and the incident involving my missing cash completely ruined what should have been a relaxing holiday.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Booking my holiday here was a mistake, and I will never return.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it. The reception staff were exceptionally friendly, professional, and always willing to help with any questions or requests. Their warm welcome made a great first impression.

The animation team was fantastic, bringing energy and fun to the hotel every day. Their activities and evening entertainment were well organized and enjoyable for both adults and children, creating a lively and pleasant atmosphere.

The restaurant was another highlight of my stay. The food was delicious, varied, and freshly prepared, with plenty of options to suit different tastes. The restaurant staff were attentive and provided excellent service throughout my visit.

Overall, the combination of outstanding reception service, an enthusiastic animation team, and a high-quality restaurant made my stay truly memorable. I would gladly return in the future.

This is the second time I’ve stayed at this hotel and I don’t have a single bad word to say! From the reception staff to the cleaners, bar staff, kitchen staff, security..every single person is absolutely wonderful and filled with great energy! We enjoyed the food, the breakfast omelette was to die forrr! Such a good location, everything is very close by, taxis are right outside you just can’t go wrong! The first time I actually went to sousse they made my time very special and organized a lovely birthday for me and decorated the table and sorted a cake out! 100% recommend

Mediocre
Room:
Great sea view and personal balcony, room itself had definitely seen better days, very sloppy paint and tiling work all around. Biggest shortcoming is definitely the loaction of the room: my room was on the 3rd floor, almost furtherest point from the lobby, which is the heart of the hotel. There are only 2 elevators, both are right next to lobby, 15 meters from eachother, which is dumb since the majority of the rooms are far away from the lobby. The fact that the tap water is not drinkable and therefore you need to grab the water bottles from the lobby bar only added to the frustration of having to walk THAT much to reach the room.

Food and drinks:
Just alright, buffet offers a large variety of food which is mostly pretty bland unfortunately. Beer and cocktails were decent, altough the menu lacks some staple cocktails you would find in any other bar.

Pools:
Outdoor pool is pretty chilly and shallow, but well kept and good for an occasional dip to refresh from the bright sun. The animation team is there every day from the early morning to late afternoon.
Indoor pool is warm and deep, i think like 3 meters deep, which i liked alot. Was using that pool far more than the beach or the outdoor pool

Beach:
Pretty standard stuff, nice and well kept with plenty of parasols and chairs. Unfortunately as soon as you step out the immideate area of the hotels private beach, you will be bothered by a lot of hagglers.

Other amenities
I didnt use spa, but it is situated in the same building as the indoor pool and the gym. That builing is in DESPERATE need of renovation: loose or broken tiles, broken doors and showerheads, straight up NASTY shower stalls, mold in every corner of the pool room. Gym sucked aswell, thought im gonna get my workout in while on vacay, but that changed as soon as I stepped into the gym. Again, a lot of stuff is broken, rubber tiles on the floor are in a very rough shape to the point of posing actual tripping hazard. Equipment is also old and lackluster.

Animation
I really attended only 3 out of 7 evening programmes and they were all pretty boring imo. Every night has some different show or theme, but it always felt amateurish and more like an afterthought. It also only lasts from 9 to 11 pm, after that the bar remains open until 12 pm after which it is complete lights out and nothing will happen in the night, no dj, karaoke, disco or nothing.
