Firstly most of the staff are very good, housekeeping and the bell boys absolutely brilliant and cleanliness of rooms 5 stars.  However this is where everything else is in decline.

It is not a 5 * resort, the food was mediocre in the main restaurant, then there was the a la carte 4 restaurants which the service was terrible and simply the dishes were terrible, basically a handful of ingredients which were being served in the buffet thrown on a plate.  On one particular evening from the Flame restaurant 5 tables (everyone who had booked) walked out, everyone went back to the buffet.  Terrible experience!

The main reception although mostly great and helpful, could not cancel dinner bookings and simply told me to attend the booking session the next day between 3pm-6pm to which there is always a long queue.  A 5* establishment would be able to cater for all guest requests from reception and not put guests out.

Some of the hotel needs a refresh, especially the children's main pool, which it not up to scratch with a boat as a feature in the middle of the pool which looks like the wood is rotting and it is in desperate need of painting.

Although this was early October the evening entertainment would never come close to passing through the first round of Britains got Talent.  It was mainly south American based entertainment, when people to to Greece, they want Greek experience, maybe not every night, but I felt like I was in Cuba or Mexico.  Notice of the entertainment programme was also missing.

The resort was miles form anywhere, with nothing around, so I recommend a car hire, its 20 minutes away from Sisi, 30 minutes from Malia, unless you want to be stuck and remote, this is not for you, unless the hotel improves with entertainment, food and gives complete variety to prevent boredom.

This resort has fantastic potential, it just needs some TLC and better management.

I stayed at Minos Imperial for a few days in early October, when the weather was unfortunately rainy most of the time. Still, the hotel itself felt like a little oasis that made up for the lack of sunshine. It’s conveniently located, just a short drive from Agios Nikolaos, Malia, and Hersonissos, so we made some really nice day trips whenever the sky cleared. The property is beautiful — surrounded by gardens, small lakes and bridges, and well-kept paths that make walking around the resort a pleasure.

Our room was comfortable and clean, with a nice balcony overlooking the sea. The housekeeping staff were polite and efficient, and the service in general was very good for the price. The food was delicious, especially at dinner, although we would have liked to see more options inspired by traditional Cretan cuisine. Everything we tried was fresh and well-cooked, and the desserts were a highlight.

The only downside was that some dishes at the buffet ran out quite quickly, probably because they were really popular. Apart from that, everything else was lovely — from the friendly staff to the peaceful atmosphere around the pools. Even though the weather wasn’t on our side, we still left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and with great memories of our stay at Minos Imperial.

I spent a week at Minos Imperial with my boyfriend, just wanting to unwind and take a proper break. It turned out to be the perfect choice. The hotel is big, full of greenery and open spaces, with many quiet corners where you can simply sit with a drink and let time slow down. It’s true that a few areas could use a small renovation, but that doesn’t take away from how charming the place feels.

Our room was spacious, very clean, and had a cozy terrace where we would sit at night listening to the sound of the fountains. The buffet had plenty of variety, and the Italian restaurant was a pleasant surprise — their pasta and starters were really good. The drinks were nice and the cocktails were honestly fantastic; you can tell the bartenders enjoy what they do.

What made our stay truly unforgettable were the evenings on the beach. Every night, a few guests would gather with us by the shore — someone always brought a guitar or a speaker, we lit a small fire, and spent hours talking, laughing, singing and watching the waves. Those nights felt magical, like a little community of travelers enjoying the simple things.

If you don’t come here to compare or expect perfection, you’ll find everything you need for a beautiful, relaxing holiday. We left rested, grateful, and already dreaming of coming back next summer.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The setting is beautiful and very pleasant, with stunning views. The hotel feels like a small village, which makes it especially nice to walk around in the evenings. The room was spacious and very well designed, and the staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Room service was also good.

The only point that could be improved is the food: there wasn’t a lot of variety, with almost the same dishes every day, and on some days the quality wasn’t at its best.

Overall, my stay went really well. We had a great time and I left with only positive memories.

I stayed here for a summer break and overall had a great experience. The hotel really lived up to my expectations. The bar was probably my favorite part – the cocktail list had lots of creative options and I was happily surprised. I tried the Citrus Glow and the Oceana and both were fantastic – fresh, well balanced, and very different from the usual drinks you find in resorts.

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a really nice view from the balcony. Waking up to the sea every morning was exactly what I wanted for this holiday. Housekeeping did a great job and everything felt well maintained.

Overall, the hotel delivered what it promises: a quiet, relaxing place to rest and recharge. Service was polite and professional, and I felt very well taken care of.

The only downside is the location. It’s quite far from the busy areas, shops and nightlife, so it’s really more suitable for people looking for a calm stay. Personally, I didn’t mind, but if you expect to go out a lot you might find it a bit isolated.The other wonderful thing I wanted to add is that it’s a paradise for swallows and doves, because with all its gardens and water features, many birds seek protection and refuge in the hotel’s waters and vegetation.
