Definitely not a five star hotel. Stains on bedding, bathroom doors, bathroom tap was never cleaned during our week stay. I can see the potential and maybe this was a 5 star hotel a few years ago, but it has become derelict with very little electricity, abandoned/unattended to places, dark and dingy staircases. The reception is nice, pool areas too apart from pool bathrooms are very dirty and cleaned with a dirty rag.
Reception were very friendly, but I would say useless at times. We only saw one person manning the desk, I felt quite sorry for his long hours but was frustrated when we had queries and he just told us to come back tomorrow. A couple of staff members made me feel quite uncomfortable with stares and comments. This is also true to the “lifeguards” on the private beach who would prefer to face young girls than the ocean.
The food in the buffet was very nice, although we grew very tiresome of the lack in variety very quickly.
I would not bother with the allocated “a-la-carte” restaurant booking - the place was completely empty and for good reason. We could choose one set menu, mine consisted of Heinz spaghetti soup for starters, shrimp Caesar salad which contained no Caesar, only brown shrimps and sad lettuce. After, I was served fish (tasty and well cooked) with spaghetti bolognaise on the side? Needless to say, we did not stick around for dessert.
Overall, I can see how much potential this place has and I hope this review reaches the relevant people to turn it around.

We have just returned from an absolutely fantastic holiday at the Mehari Hammamet and honestly could not fault a thing! This was our first time visiting Tunisia and we completely fell in love with both the country and the hotel.
The staff were truly exceptional from start to finish — so friendly, welcoming and always smiling. From the bar staff, to the waiters, to the lifeguards on the beach, every single person made us feel so welcome and helped make our holiday extra special. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
We travelled as a party of 8 and the hotel catered brilliantly for all of our needs. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was amazing and there was always something to enjoy. The massages at the spa were excellent and such a relaxing treat during our stay.
A special mention must go to “Michael” who helped arrange a fantastic boat trip for my sister’s 50th birthday — it was one of the highlights of our holiday and created memories we will never forget!
The location of the hotel is perfect and we always felt comfortable and looked after. We would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of visiting Hammamet. Thank you to everyone at Mehari Yasmine for giving us such a wonderful holiday — we will definitely be back!

Upon arriving at the Hotel, the Lobby was nice with the decor, good seating area and relatively clean. We were politely greeted but I believe these to be two of a very few highlights of this hotel, the other being the nicer pool for where the entertainment is carried out. This is not the standard of a 5* Hotel at all but more of a generous 2-3*. There is a small single bar next to the reception which they need
more staff if they are to keep up with the requirements of beverages. Following a very early flight 6am and arriving early, at 11am, to the hotel, they kindly looked after our luggage and we were free to roam the surrounding area for a few hours to which they said 2pm the room would be ready, but this was not the case and the room was ready at 3pm which we felt was unnecessary as we had already had such an early start to our day. The room, we must admit, was very spacious, with comfortable beds and had a nice view of the beach across the road. The WiFi to the room, however, was terrible, constantly cutting out, to which one of us had to acquire data just to use their phone to communicate with others. The room was very outdated, the towels are of poor quality, the bathroom floor gets very wet and slippery after taking a shower as the screen is not big enough to keep the water inside the bath and the TV did not work. I’m am pretty sure there is only one cleaning lady (for whom we felt sorry for) for the whole floor, so rooms were not always cleaned but towels were exchanged. The food was very mediocre - it was repeated a lot, things undercooked/overcooked and generally not a lot of choice or even fresh fruit to keep hydrated. The beach was generally clean and the workers did provide sun loungers and moved them for you, but the lifeguard Habib was, sorry to say, a bit of pervert, whom only had an interest in the females and did not seem to care too much about the lifeguard duties. The Entertainment team were generally friendly and did try their best to keep the guests happy but were limited with their resources. Karaoke night consisted of everyone being in the dark, the main stage having microphones that didn’t work properly, and the YouTube video for the Karaoke would occasionally cut out/short maybe due to the poor WiFi. I would personally not recommend this hotel as 5* as there needs to be a lot of improvements in cleanliness, service and general accommodation for their guests.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were absolutely amazing, very friendly, helpful and always ready to assist with a smile. The hotel was very clean, the rooms were spotless and well maintained every day. The location was perfect, close to everything and very convenient.

The only small thing I would say is that the food could be slightly better, but there was still a good selection and everyone could find something to eat.

Overall it was a fantastic experience and I would definitely recommend this hotel. I would happily stay here again.

Our experience was amazing. You can’t compare European standards in Terms of 5*, but the service was excellent. The staff in general, but restaurant staff in particular were incredible. For the price you’re paying its excellent value. Location is very good too! Shops in area, beach across the road and all the worthwhile sites within walking distance.
