Marhaba Royal Salem- you have exceeded my expectations after I heard such mixed reviews on Tunisa. It was a delight staying in this hotel. I honestly believe the hotel you choose really does make your holiday =). It didnt start off very well I did have an issue once we was given our room, the male receptionist  was not helpful, I do not remember his name; bold, build mid aged chap quite fair- he was rude and really does need customer service skills as he is front of house. Other than him all the staff thought the hotel was so polite and friendly. Slim, managed to resolve our issue. It was my sons birthday 3days into the holiday our waiter Bashier went above and beyond, he was absolutely fantastic though out the week and always provided a excellent service. He set a table up on my sons birthday and again a candle light meal on our last night- thank you! Another waiter I think his name is Ebrahim- works in the middle resturant  during lunch was really good especially with my 3year old twins, and made friends with them =)which was absolutely adorable. Our rooms were made up every day, I'd like to say Basma is amazing at what she does and did not fail to ever greet us. Anisa also another receptionist was an absolute delight, always smiling and willing to help. The animation team was also great they get everyone involved they took my boy up on stage during his birthday; despite him being shy, he absolutely loved it 🥺. The bar staff all where very friendly we travelled with 3 young kids and most staff always made an effort to talk to the kids. Thankyou

Ezzine & Hassen from the restaurant who made sure you was looked after at every meal.

And Marko with Nino from pool and animation staff. They always made sure you to spread positive and good vibes with everyone around. And always open to a friendly conversation with the guests and just made sure everyone was enjoying their holiday.

I had an amazing time and I am sure I will be coming back !

Terrible experience – absolutely avoid!
This was a disastrous stay. The staff were simply horrible: rude, arrogant, and completely disrespectful toward guests. Even a simple “hello” would not get a response — you feel ignored from the moment you arrive.
On top of that, the hotel is very old and poorly maintained. The equipment is almost nonexistent, and whatever little there is is broken and outdated, clearly more than 15 years old. Nothing works properly, and no effort seems to be made to keep the place in decent condition.
There is absolutely no sense of customer service. They speak to guests in a very unpleasant and sometimes condescending manner, with no willingness to help at all. The welcome is cold, almost nonexistent, which creates a terrible first impression.
You come to a hotel to relax, not to be treated poorly. This experience completely ruined my stay, and I will definitely never come back.
In addition, I must highlight the serious hygiene issue, as cockroaches were present throughout the restaurant, even on the tables. This is completely unacceptable for any establishment (with photo on my hand).

I strongly do not recommend this hotel at all.
It is truly a pity, given the hotel’s potential, if it had been in the right hands !

Great budget hotel, lovely selection of food. The drink choices are limited. We visited out of season, I'm sure it will be awesome in peak season.

We are 5 days into our 10 days in lovely Tunisia. Staff at the Royal Salem and Salem are so lovely and welcoming and the Animation team are very enthusiastic. Loved Marco who was always smiling. The gardens are beautiful thanks to the garden staff. Our room is nice but we don't get the sun on the balcony but we do have a view over the trees and a side sea view. A big big thanks to Samira for looking after our room, she is always happy and does a great job of keeping our room nice and being so welcoming to us x

Absolutely brilliant hotel. Staff extremely friendly, animation team are amazing, photographer Sancho brilliant. He did us a photo shoot. Some amazing photos we got from him natural and silly how we like. Food…so much food something for everyone.
We had a brilliant stay! Can not fault anything!

The place is good, the beach is great, but that's it. In general, it does not meet the positive comments. In general, there was no organization and people were pushing each other for food and coffee. There were 30-minute queues for ice cream.
The massages were not the best, on top of that, the masseuses are clearly unhappy that they have to do massages. There were problems with the agreed hours. For lunch on the beach, you wait 20 minutes for forks to be washed, the plates are dirty. But despite everything, everyone in the restaurants works flawlessly. The entire staff, except for the massage team, deserves a big bravo for the efforts they make.
The hotel is old, it definitely needs to be renovated. The food is scarce, when some dishes run out, they don't refill them and you have to hurry to be sure that you will be able to have dinner. The internet is good, even on the beach. But I certainly wouldn't come back.
