If we could give this hotel 0 stars we would. We stayed at Lagos de Fañabé from 13th–20th May 2026 and are extremely disappointed with the condition of the accommodation. This place is covered in dirt, dust and held together by paint!!! Not a nice hotel at all and definitely not 4 stars.

The property was not in a habitable standard on arrival. Cleanliness was unacceptable throughout the stay, with cobwebs, dead insects, and cockroaches crawling up the walls observed on multiple occasions. Looks like no deep cleaning is ever done as clearly seen in the photos uploaded. Green tiles in the pool just says how dirty this hotel is.

There were also serious safety concerns. Travelling with a toddler, we encountered hazards that should not exist in licensed family accommodation, including a crumbling balcony structure with loose materials accessible to a child, and an unsecured access door under a staircase leading to a potentially hazardous area. These conditions posed a foreseeable risk of injury.

This property is advertised as a 4-star hotel; however, in our experience it does not meet that standard. Based on our stay, we would not recommend it, particularly for families with young children. If you are not comfortable with poor hygiene conditions, including insects, this is not a place we would suggest staying. The whole holiday was very unpleasant and we are want to stress the fact this place is not clean or well kept. The images used to advertise this hotel are misleading.

We have submitted a formal complaint and requested a refund from booking.com and hopefully hear back soon. Our son was bitten by an ant just before check out too which has caused him significant pain. This place is despicable. Would not recommend!

We stayed at Lagos de Fañabé from the 13th to 20th May 2026 and unfortunately had a very poor and upsetting experience.

The apartment was extremely dirty on arrival and remained so throughout our stay. There were cobwebs, dead bugs, and we also saw cockroaches on several occasions. The overall cleanliness was completely unacceptable and made it impossible for us to relax at any point during our holiday. You can see the photos we have attached, there is a mysterious yellow patch I unknowingly slept on and hairs that do not belong to under the sheets.

Housekeeping standards were also very poor. Floors appeared to be “cleaned” with a dirty mop, and even after cleaning the apartment still felt filthy. Our son’s socks would immediately become black from walking around, which shows how poor the hygiene level was.

We have stayed in Tenerife many times before and have never experienced anything like this. Not once. We were left feeling uncomfortable and honestly quite sickened by the condition of the accommodation.

There were also serious safety concerns. We were travelling with our toddler, and despite constant supervision, there were hazards that should not be present in family accommodation. The balcony wall was damaged and crumbling, with loose pieces easily coming away. Our son was able to pull material from it within seconds and put it in his mouth before we could stop him.

He was also able to access a door underneath a staircase which appeared to lead to another apartment area with exposed wiring/equipment. Although there was a lock, it had been left unsecured and he was able to open it easily, which posed a serious safety risk.

We also raised concerns with staff during our stay but did not feel they were taken seriously. We were offered a room move but were told it would “not make a difference, as there would be cockroaches there too” which did not give us any confidence in the standards of the property.

Overall, this accommodation did not meet basic cleanliness or safety standards and was not suitable for families with young children. It significantly impacted our holiday experience and we would not return or recommend staying here.

We have left our family holiday feeling absolutely disgusting and unclean. The rooms are dirty and disgusting. There was nothing pleasant about this experience, we were tense and uncomfortable throughout. Breakfast was very basic and nothing 4 star about it, we have stayed in lesser star hotels with better breakfast . If there were bugs in the apartment probably the kitchens too.

We have raised our concerned again with the hotel and with booking.com for a refund as no one should be subjected to this level of filth!

Loved this place. Just arrived back from a week here. Amazing room with a view over the seafront. Awesome location. Very clean. Very chilled. Don’t have a bad word to say about any of it. Would highly recommend

For a 6 night stay in this hotel on all inclusive basis I paid just under 1k for myself (1 person) way too expensive for what you get in my opinion. The hotel staff was friendly, however the food was a big let down. Almost everything was cold straight away, every dat pork chicken and fish, rarely something else and not a lot of choice between dishes.

I requested bottled water at 11:10 am and was instructed by a young waiter that I can get the water from the machine and that bottled water is only available during lunch and dinner. The water from the machine tastes chemically because it is filtered tapwater. I find it appaling to pay almost 1k for 6 days and not even get bottled water when I request it. I ended up drinking almost no water most of the days or buy my own in the shop next door. Ridiculous if you pay that much. It wasn’t very clean either, there were cockroaches running around at night and as a final surprise on our last day I had a cockroach hiding in my bathroom and my parents did too in theirs!

The breakfast was very mid as well. I expected more given the cost I paid. Also, I tried to connect to the wifi with my laptop, their wifi system didn’t work, even the receptionists couldn’t get it to work. My parents were lucky they got a more modern room, but my room was quite outdated, I had spiders and black bugs in my room constantly and I believe it was because the balcony door doesn’t close fully, there is a gap. There were stains on the curtains as well I felt really dirty in this hotel in general.

The only positive was the location and the staff was friendly and helpful. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, unless you want to eat cold food daily and be surrounded by bugs and cockroaches. Even the pools had constant dirt in them. Gym was ok. We ate out 5 times while on all inclusive (either at lunch or dinner) during the 6 days because the food really wasn’t it. There’s also cats all over the property and they often pee for example on the roof above the eating area outside and then it drops on the bridge people walk on to dinner/lunch.

Also the “snacks” you get in the afternoon is old pizza from the lunch and some of the fruit left from lunch. The cocktails came out of a machine instead of freshly made. My mom said she took a baileys and it tasted watered down. The “Beach Resort” is not included unless you book via the hotels website directly. We were planning on going there 1 day but the beds were filthy. Blue beds with green stains on them? So we turned back to the hotel.

EDIT AFTER HOTELS RESPONSE:
1) Room type/location: My room was 5 rooms down from where my parents were staying, also a ground floor apartment so as far as I know same type of apartment!
2) On the last night when I saw the cockroach I did in fact call the reception and they sent someone to find it which was positive.
3) I also brought up the bottled water issue with the receptionists after being denied by the bar, they shrugged their shoulders.

PS: This hotel requests a good review upon check-in in return for using the safe for free during your stay. Don’t be fooled.

Not a great experience, whilst the hotel itself is nice, upon arrival we were given conflicting advice on where and when the all inclusive items were available. The staff in the bar would stand and continue conversations before serving despite customers waiting to be served. Overall the staff in general were very disinterested in the guests. During our stay my handbag was stolen and when reported to reception I was told to go to police station. I asked if the hotel itself could review the CCTV and this was refused and I again was directed to the police station which was a taxi ride away, having had my bag stolen I had no cash to pay for this and after some back and forward eventually the hotel offered to pay for taxis. Whilst at the station I was called by a member of our group who said the bag had been found and we returned to the hotel where they asked us to pay the taxi fare back as they said I had obviously left it in the toilet. Money and perfume had been removed from the bag and the bag had been damaged. I refused to pay and refused to sign a waiver to say I was happy with the outcome as I felt the staff were very dismissive and unhelpful. I asked if the hotel could place a report as there had been a theft on their property and I was told this was a private matter and nothing to do with the hotel. Overall a very poor experience and I would not recommend this hotel.
