I liked the hotel, the service is fairly good. The animation team is really nice and friendly. However, the food is not as delicious as it could be. The variety is poor and the taste is average. The room cleaning is also bad too. The staff always forgets to leave the required number of towels, etc. the rooms require renovation and the bedsheets too. Despite all this, the beach and  pool area are good. The sea is not that convenient for swimming due to the constant shallow waters.

I went to this place 2 years ago- it was quite nice. It’s not an 5 star experience but I enjoyed my time there !

I think the food could be better, that doesn’t mean it wasn’t good, I just expected more. However I had the chance to try so many new local foods.

The rooms were always clean which I appreciate. Beach absolutely beautiful.

The nicest thing was the chance to go diving or on a ride to the desert. I really loved the extra activities.
The resort over all is nice for the price and I think you’ll enjoy your time there.

We stayed at Imperial Shams Abu Soma in April 2026 as a large family group, with several families travelling together. Choosing a hotel that would suit everyone was not easy, but Imperial Shams Abu Soma genuinely ticked all the boxes.

A very special thank you must go to Farag Osman, Assistant Front Office Manager. He made our entire stay genuinely hassle-free. He was attentive, professional and always ready to help, and his efforts made a real difference to our holiday. Everything simply worked, allowing us to relax and enjoy our time without unnecessary stress.

The staff throughout the hotel deserve enormous credit. The resort was consistently clean and well maintained, and we were treated with warmth, attention and genuine care.

The location is superb for families. The hotel has direct access to a beautiful beach with a gently sloping, genuinely sandy seabed. This is much rarer on the Red Sea than people may realise. Many hotels have shallow beaches, but the seabed is often a hard coral surface with holes and small cavities where black sea urchins hide, with their long spines sticking out.

Here, it was completely different. The seabed was proper soft sand, pleasant underfoot and free from those hidden coral cavities and sea urchins. Our 13-year-old son could swim and explore without us constantly worrying that he might suddenly disappear into deep water or step on something dangerous. Our relatives were travelling with their four-year-old daughter, and she also loved the sea and happily swam there every day.

The swimming pools were another major success with both the children and adults. They were clean, enjoyable and added even more variety to the holiday.

We were extremely fortunate with our ground-floor room, which was only around 20 metres from the beach. We could wake up, sit on the terrace with a cup of coffee and have the sea just a few dozen metres away. Absolutely wonderful.

The food was another major highlight. Huge thanks to Chef Ahmed Ebeid, who is not only an excellent chef but also an exceptionally kind, friendly and approachable person. The restaurant was impressively clean and remarkably well organised, even during busy dinner periods. The team worked together seamlessly, food was constantly replenished, and everything remained fresh and hot.

We particularly appreciated that the food was neither excessively salty nor overcooked. There were plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit, and throughout the entire holiday our whole group felt completely well.

The all-inclusive daytime snacks were also excellent. The grill, chips, fresh snacks and cold drinks were prepared continuously and served fresh. We preferred this approach enormously to having a huge selection of food sitting around for hours or being moved repeatedly between the kitchen and serving areas. There may have been fewer unnecessary options, but what was available was fresh, hot and genuinely enjoyable.

Diving was extremely important to our holiday, and the nearby Shams Diving Center was outstanding. The centre is managed by German divers, and this was noticeable in the organisation, communication and overall standards. Everything ran smoothly and professionally.

The equipment was in genuinely good condition, not the heavily worn wetsuits, damaged BCDs or questionable rental gear that can sometimes be found at local dive centres in Egypt. The boat trips were brilliantly organised, the prices were reasonable, and we completed around eight dives with them. We were completely satisfied with the entire experience.

We have travelled extensively around Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey and Europe, and Imperial Shams Abu Soma genuinely impressed us. For the money, you receive more than many competing hotels offer at a similar price.

If you are trying to choose a hotel for a large family group with different ages and interests, Imperial Shams Abu Soma is an excellent option. We would happily recommend it and would particularly like to thank Farag Osman, Chef Ahmed Ebeid and the entire team for making our holiday so memorable.

We enjoyed our stay at the resort so much, everything was perfect and the service is so good allover the resort and so clean and professional . Food is clean and has a big variety of choices at the restaurant, beach and pool are so clean and amazing.
The animation team is so nice and friendly Maya, Rita , Mody, kareem and Oudi. I enjoyed daily yoga and stretching sessions. Also every night there's an entertaining show at the theatre.

I totally recommend staying at the resort for your vacation

Just got back from a 7-day stay at Imperial Sharm Hotel in Soma Bay and honestly, it was such a great vacation! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The whole experience was super relaxing from start to finish. The staff were really friendly and always happy to help, which made a big difference. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the views were beautiful.
The food was also really good with plenty of options every day, so it never got boring. The pool and beach area were definitely highlights, perfect for just chilling out and enjoying the sun.
Overall, it was exactly what we needed for a stress free getaway. Would definitely come back again!
