I have just come back to the UK from a 10 day trip from Tunisia and we stayed at this hotel.

Positives:-
The staff in terms of reception and waiters were exceptionally kind and always helpful, they went out of their ways to make me and my family welcome and comfortable. Tunisians are very friendly people. They ensure everyone is welcome in their country. The staff members were eager to solve any issues we had. the waiters even arranged a birthday cake for my daughter and surprised us which was very sweet of them. The hotel was clean. Food was very nice and there was a variety of dishes and lots of deserts.
Animation team member Simo was very friendly and always made sure there was activities for children.

Negatives:-
I have noticed like other users here that there is a preferential treatment of Caucasian Europeans in the hotel and anyone who is presumed middle eastern or south Asian is treated differently.
I have to mention this is evident in the hotel ONLY not outside of the hotel as Tunisians are very welcoming people esp if you are Muslim.

I had an issue with beach towels with one of the animation team member Bibo he was very rude to me and I feel he was of the opinion I was Middle Eastern due to my hijab, however when he noticed I spoke fluent English and I stood my ground only then he backed off and apologised, so there was one rule for Caucasian people regarding beach towels but another rule for everyone else which was very unfair and so I spoke to his manager panda who listened to me and my husband and apologised on his team members behalf.
WiFi was also a major issue whilst we were there, the rooms had no WiFi.

The hotel needs to treat ALL customers fairly regardless of where they come from, the food should include menu for kids such as burgers, pizza’s and chips.

The room was dirty. The cleaning staff only came once in six days. As for the food, it was varied but not good. The staff were nice to me, not all of them, but most of them, especially the pool team responsible for the pool activities. The hotel's location is good, close to the port and Hannibal Park. Both pools were clean and good, but there is one negative note regarding the slide( toboggan) it is only open for two hours a day.

Actually, the hotel is absolutely fantastic. The food is very good, and Mr. Marwan, the supervisor in the restaurant, is extremely kind, professional, and attentive. He made our dining experience even more enjoyable with his excellent service and warm hospitality.

Overall, the place is wonderful. The rooms are comfortable and well-maintained, and the bathrooms are clean and in good condition. I truly enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to others.

I have just arrived back from a 7 night stay. Whilst there I was treated wonderfully by The Staff who do a brilliant job. The Hotel itself could do with modernising however for the price it is great value for money. The Tourism Industry has been hit badly by events that Happened in 2015 and is taking a long time to recover. Lots of Hotels have closed during the last 10 years so it is having a big impact on the Local Economy. Before my recent visit I was in Sousse in 1997 and to see the change was incredible with so much progress which was brought to a halt. I shall definitely be going back to the Houria Palace and urge anyone who is thinking of using this Low Cost Hotel to give it a try. If you want Luxury this isn't for you. If you want to be treated well then it is. I might add The food is great and even checked by a Quality Control Person at each meal. Enjoy your stay.

I had a very disappointing stay at Houria Palace. The customer service was rude and unprofessional. The bedroom quality was poor, and the beds were uncomfortable and not suitable. The windows and doors did not close properly, which made the room feel insecure. On top of that, loud music was playing all night at a very high volume, making it impossible to rest. I would not recommend this hotel.
