We loved our time at Riu Bravo Mallorca. The hotel is clean and super close to the beach. While there is a cap on alcohol, we saw this as a good thing, and the staff were relaxed about it; it’s to stop people from drinking to excess. The staff smiled and welcomed everyone into the dining hall each night. The staff even taught us a bit of Spanish. A lovely holiday!

Title: Deeply Disappointed — Nothing Like the RIU Brand Promises

I am currently staying at RIU Bravo in Palma de Mallorca, and this experience has been extremely disappointing from the moment I arrived. The hotel hides behind the well-known RIU name and reputation, but the reality here is completely different — poor service, misleading advertising, and a shocking lack of hospitality.

They promote themselves as an “all-inclusive” resort, but that is far from the truth. Many of the things guests naturally expect to be included simply aren’t. The overall quality of service and amenities does not match what RIU represents.

To make matters worse, yesterday was my birthday, and it turned into one of the most uncomfortable experiences I’ve had while traveling. The air conditioning in my room stopped working, and when I contacted reception, their only response was: “You’ll have to wait until tomorrow — just use the fan in your room.” There was no sense of urgency, empathy, or effort to resolve the problem.

Later that evening, I tried to request room service or at least some water, but was told there is no room service at this hotel. My room phone didn’t work, so I went downstairs in person to ask for water. The front desk staff pointed me to a small room beside the lobby, saying that’s where I could get it. Inside, there was only a water dispenser with plastic cups, and when I picked one up, I found a lipstick stain on a “clean” cup. That was the final straw — completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one under the RIU name.

The atmosphere also isn’t as advertised. The hotel caters mostly to elderly guests, which drastically changes the energy and experience. I have nothing against that, but it’s something that should be clearly communicated before booking.

Overall, this property is a disgrace to the RIU brand. Between the false “all-inclusive” promise, broken amenities, lack of service, and poor hygiene, it’s nowhere near the standard people expect when booking with RIU. My stay here has been frustrating, disappointing, and far from enjoyable.

I would strongly advise future guests to think twice before booking RIU Bravo. What they advertise online and what you actually experience in person are two completely different things.

Although the noise level wasn't too bad . The rooms have very little sound proofing so can be noisy when the cleaners start. Food was really good , great variety . But be warned alcohol is limited to 3 drinks with lunch and evening meals . You have to buy drinks after that in the bar lounge . Immaculately clean . They let us use the outside shower area of the indoor pool to freshen up before the return flight too . Plus provided clean towels . Happy days ! Would return but only for a base to tour the island as close to Palma airport,  25 mins coach

The Riu bravo is a lovely 4* hotel with a great location, excellent food choices and good amenities. The stand out feature was the food selection. There were multiple places you could get food throughout the day and the selection was consistent, with varying dishes on certain days. Always well presented and clean throughout. The rooms were on the small side for a 4*, but still enough to be comfortable. This is not the location for families, the area has a strong German presence. Our party of 8 young adults had zero issues with this, but the area surrounding the hotel can be rowdy during the afternoon and evenings. (Always turn right along the beach as it's more Spanish!). We were awakened a few times in the early hours with doors shutting and shouting from drunk people returning from their nights out, but we knew this would be expected, being in the area we chose. Overall, it's a great all round 4*, but catered more towards the party type people.

The food was definitely one of the highlights – breakfast, lunch, and dinner all had great variety and quality. Fresh fruits, grilled meats, salads, desserts – we never went hungry! There were also snacks available between lunch and dinner, which was a nice bonus.

The rooms were clean and modern, and the hotel staff were kind and helpful throughout our stay. The pools and surrounding areas were well-maintained, and the hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from the beach and local shops.

One thing to note for future travelers: there were no cocktails included in the all-inclusive package – only wine, beer, and a few basic drinks, and this is not the hotel’s fault. It’s due to a regional law in the Balearic Islands that limits all-inclusive guests to 6 alcoholic drinks per day (3 with lunch, 3 with dinner). So if you’re expecting unlimited drinks or poolside cocktails, be aware of this legal restriction.

Still, we had a relaxing time, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was great. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a good-value holiday — just with managed expectations on the drinks!
