Value for money a great hotel to stay and enjoy Alcoi. We paid a little extra for the balcony with a great view along the bridge and in to the old town. Lovely at night with the lights. We also paid €13 per day for the hotel parking. Not many spaces but very good sizes and easy to park. Yes the hotel is maybe a little bit tired but perfect for our modernista feria weekend. Nice and friendly staff. A very easy walk to the old town and the shops and new part in the other direction.

Communication before our arrival was excellent. I received immediate responses to my (non-urgent) questions, even late at night, which was much appreciated.

After checking with the hotel and confirming availability prior to arrival, we drove straight to the underground car park. Note: the entrance is on Calle l'Estrambrera, which must be accessed from Calle Balmes. The garage has easy access with about 17 wide parking spaces. Although we passed three free street parking spaces, we chose to pay the €13 per night (for our 4 night stay) to ensure our car was protected from potential dings or dents — well worth the peace of mind in our opinion.

Check-in and check-out were both quick and easy, handled by a lovely and friendly young woman.

Our room was more spacious than expected. The balcony view was stunning — not something I’d usually pay extra for, but now I understand why it’s recommended. The sun is on the balcony from morning until late afternoon. Despite the room being near the bridge, it was surprisingly quiet. We spent some time on the balcony each day after our long days walking and exploring.

The air conditioning unit in our room looked new but as the temperature was perfect without it - 25th to 29th September - we didn't turn it on.

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable, with the bonus of blackout curtains, although they didn’t quite cover everything as they were hanging a bit loose. The fridge was a helpful addition.

The shower pressure was fantastic and the lighting in the bathroom bright and plentiful including a huge mirror above the sink. There was also a full length mirror in our hallway.

We experienced minimal noise — once from the room above and once from next door — but this is typical in most Spanish hotels. We always travel with earplugs, though we didn’t end up needing them at the Reconquista.

As others have mentioned, the hotel and rooms are dated, and there are signs of wear and tear — imperfect paint, minor maintenance issues (like the balcony door needing a certain knack to close properly). However, everything worked, and for us, that’s what mattered. Our only suggestion would be to include a toilet brush in the bathroom.

While I personally enjoy modern hotels, I’d much rather pay the current rate for the Hotel Reconquista in its existing state than a significantly higher price for a renovated version. The real highlights are the location - something for which was perfect - and the convenience of the underground parking. For the price we paid, this stay was excellent value.

The hotel has a great location and working AC, but it feels like it got stuck somewhere between 1987 and a half-hearted attempt to update the place.

After a long day we tried to find something to eat during the siesta. That’s basically impossible between 4 and 8 pm in this town. We literally had to negotiate our way to a bag of chips for the kid.

Later that evening we ate at the hotel restaurant and ordered a fruit salad. What arrived was one lonely sliced apple on a plate. Not wrong, just kind of depressing.

Breakfast the next morning was just as creative. Super limited. Definitely don’t come hungry.

The rooms? Walls so thin you get a front row seat to your neighbors’ conversations and coughing. We also found someone else’s hair in the bathroom and there were way too few power outlets.

Staff were friendly, but that doesn’t really save the experience. The hotel works if you just need a bed to sleep in — as long as you bring your own breakfast, earplugs and an extra socket or two.

Stayed here on Bicycle what a pleasant surprise both town and Hotel. Hotel is brilliant location. Room with balcony table,and chairs overlooking Bridge and town. Fantastic value. Staff excellent. Receptionist was very efficient kind and helpful. No problem in changing my original booking. She provided a secure locked room for bicycles. Dinner,and breakfast was very good. Hotel is in fantastic location good food super value and, excellent staff. Highly Recommended.

The prices are very competitive when you book directly with the hotel. Over many years we have regularly used Reconquista and have never been disappointed. The staff are always welcoming and there is always a safe place inside to safely store our bicycles.
The rooms are spotlessly clean and very spacious. Noise insulation is good and we always have a good night's sleep here.
We will happily stay here again in the future.

The Hotel Reconquista is located in the city center of Alcoy, in a way linking the historic center with museums and commercial areas of the Ensanche. You can also enjoy the two parks near the hotel: Fuente Roja and Mariola. Its facade has made him a logo for the city, as it has a wrought iron mural reflecting the typical Moors and Christian's party of the city.  It has very bright rooms, some with views to the Puente San Jordi, and they have TV, safe, free minibar, air conditioning and a bathroom with hairdryer. There is one area dedicated to the gym, which has a spa with a whirlpool and sauna. 
In the surroundings, in less than 5 minutes walking, there are a train connection, taxi and local bus for transfers to the city center or Alicante/Valencia airports.
