Stayed in late January with my wife and 10 month old on an all inclusive basis.

Overall we were happy taking into consideration the price paid and would stay again, but definitely some feedback which may put others off.

Room - the 2 bedroom bungalow was perfect for our break. It had plenty of space to relax and also store our luggage. It was dated in places but overall fine.

Maintenance - unfortunately when we arrived in the evening there was no hot water (boiler issue fixed outside), and discovered the following day aircon unit didnt work (no batteries in the remote). Both problems were quickly resolved when we called reception but not an ideal start, something that could be be checked as a basic.

Pool area - nice enough, plenty of sun all day. Only downside is some somebeds were dirty and mouldy which let it down.

Food - in general thought this was really good. Good variety, themed nights, great meats, hot and cold options, high chairs for our little one, clean and modern. Unfortunately there were some dishes that were worringly below temperature. For example one evening on the live cooking station there was grilled veal (delicious), but then the mash potatoe and gravy were served not on a warm plate... Also another night a pork stew was luke warm at best.

Drinks - Generally great. Amstel beer, basic cocktails, most local spirits, and help yourself pepsi/fanta machines. At dinner and the individual bars, great. By the pool, beer served in small paper cups and the queues were long at times.

Staff - all lovely and helpful from our interactions

Cats - EVERYWHERE. We are animal lovers and our little one enjoyed spotting them. They were well looked after, but I think it was close to crossing the line as to what is acceptable.

Location - great. 10/15 min walk to beach and felt safe. 5/10 min walk to local bus station which was handy.

Few other bits - we didnt book any excursions but plenty available. We hired a car, there was plenty of parking. Site felt very safe and family orientated.

Spent 2 weeks here. The staff are lovely and friendly. The rooms are clean, and the cleaners will clean your room and give new towels daily, except for Sunday. My only suggestion would be to bring your own pillows as the ones supplied are uncomfortable. Great pools and again, the pool area is well maintained and clean. Theres plenty of Sunbeds and plenty of space by the pool. The pool bar has plenty of tables and is sheltered. There are toilets next to the pool bar, next to the restaurant and in the hotel lobby, which is always something i check. The restaurant has a wide variety of options and there's different themes once a week like Indian, Chinese etc. I thought the food was great. Very fresh and well prepared. It's about a 10 minute walk to the beach where there's loads of bars, restaurants and shops. I would definitely return to this hotel. Its very good value for money. My only criticism is that the you have to pay for WiFi, and it's not very good. WiFi should be standard and included in this day and age. There was a full day it wasn't on at all, and when it was on, it drops in and out, and isn't accessible in certain bar and pool areas. I also couldn't access my banking app as the signal isnt strong enough. But this was a small frustration in an otherwise great holiday. I'd definitely recommend this hotel. It had a quiet bar, and a larger bar where the entertainment was on. I was very impressed with the staff who were friendly and always available.  We (my husband and our friends) all had a great time.

Just back today would i return, Absolutely NOT! The hotel is gorgeous the grounds are fabulous. Hotel is only a 10 minute walk to main town. We paid 6000 for two weeks all inclusive 2 adults 4 children, the food was awful my kids lived off plain pasta pizza and chips. The staff that worked cooking the food and cleaners in the food area are great workers couldn’t fault how hard they work and they’re really nice but major changes need to happen with food. We ate out every day! The cleaners for the rooms are lazy and dirty id have to ring and request towels and fresh bedding, bins where left stacked out side for two days I had to ring for them to be removed, floors never washed or swept. The entertainment for the kids was ok the lads where so nice always went above and beyond to greet you, the bar lads where quite rude the cocktails where cheap and to sweet. It’s such a shame because the hotel could be amazing if they made changes. Playa Blanca was not a place for us in general and we would not return.

Bungalow is nice. No tea or coffee available in the rooms though. Food is excellent, good variety and plenty of it. We arrived at 4pm very hungry and after a long day of travelling couldn’t get any food til 6pm when the restaurant opened.

WiFi costs extra.
Security deposit/safe in the room costs extra.
Pool towels are a €15 deposit.
Drinks after 11pm costs extra even though we are all inclusive.

Gym is superb. Location is wonderful.

The place is heaving with feral screaming adults and their kids. It’s like Butlins with Ugg boots, faketan, leopard skin and vapes galore. There are cigarette ends in the plant pots and half eaten sandwiches floating in the pool.

It seems acceptable for some to wander round in pyjamas and no bra while puffing on a cig and yelling TYLARRRRRRR across the pool area. Tyler is currently beating a local cat with a pool noodle.

If you’re after a nice hotel with good food and in a great location but with “The Sun” [newspaper] holiday vouchers feel to it, then this is it 👍🏻

Firstly the Facebook group is managed by someone on the inside, my honest post on there that was written well and not in any way aggy or rude was never published; I know of 5 others that posted negative comments and were not uploaded. That tells you it’s moderated to keep the really negative stuff out.

Bungalows - very old, dated, not very secure and the key cards you can’t keep near other cards, mobile phones or anything else. So whilst wearing holiday attire where are you to put the delicate key card?

Staff- nice people, expect you to book excursions through them to save €1 per person but you can get more off directly.

Took ages to provide more pillows and the WiFi they sell as great but it’s bad! Did refund me though.

Food! There is zero positive to say about the food, this isn’t any star let alone 4, I firmly believe 3 of the 4 stars were copied and pasted from elsewhere. The food is of extremely poor quality, cooked badly and no seasoning ever. It is a joke to call it 4 star and charge as much when you are serving slop. These charge for so much that should be free with all inclusive and if not begrudge that if they paid a proper chef, and put the effort in.

I see people are being called unreasonable and snobbish for not liking the gruel but that’s nonsense, I’m not even that fussy but it annoys me when we laid £11k for 6 days for 8 and expect something edible each sitting: the NYE gala promised to be something else, it was the same slop and you could pay extra for your wine and beers… not very all inclusive.

All in all it was the worst holiday we have been on and I have been to Pontins and Butlins as a kid. I nearly switched in August but the Facebook group convinced me it wasn’t that bad! I wish I had changed it. I tried to fly back on day 4 but couldn’t. My advice, if you have booked this and can change it or cancel, do it! There is nothing worth staying for. A holiday is to relax, change scene, get someone else to take care of you to some extent, this place doesn’t offer any of it. No heated pool, no edible food, lack of serving staff and nothing in terms of entertainment for when the weather is poor. Save your money and go to Butlins…. Avoid H”e”L Club Playa

We are at the end of our holiday here and there are many positive things.  The staff are all friendly and work very hard to keep the hotel clean and welcoming.
We booked a 2 bedroom bungalow but as I requested near to restaurant were allocated a one bedroom. As there is a 20 euro per day difference in price we raised this with the hotel and our rep. The hotel basically said we are in a 2 bedroom but had trouble with  a water leak in one room to our rep,( totally made up ) so we took our rep  and proved to him we only have one bedroom .Why would they say this when so easily proved wrong!!
The food is the most inedible I have ever had on holiday, causing severe vomiting twice. Undercooked, raw black pudding, overcooked, dried up hash browns,bacon,eggs, and consistently cold. I saw the casserole brought from the kitchen to the servery and immediately took some,  this was still cold. How long is food in the kitchen ready to be taken to the servery for it to go cold? It should be piping 🔥. Yes there is a microwave  but it's not safe to reheat some foods particularly fish,chicken and pork, also you shouldn't have to .
Unfortunately this has been noted in reviews for months with response from management it will be dealt with   but nothing has changed .
This is a great shame as all staff are lovely and work so hard but sadly let down by chefs/kitchen staff and ultimately the management for not dealing with it
After reading the response to my review does this mean that we can get the 140 euros that we have paid extra for the 1 bedroom bungalow  before we leave for home tomorrow or will it be refunded via jet 2 ?

Have just returned from a brilliant holiday here! Lovely resort set up, with the chalets being ideal for what our family needed. Kids entertainment was great for our 2 year old and our 10 year old came in and out of it when he wanted.
Staff were all so friendly and helpful, and couldn't fault them.
Loved the food, thought the choice was really varied. 2 of the 3 kids can't have dairy, but there was enough there for them still.
The gym was one of the best I've seen in a resort!
Short walk into town and the beach.
Regret booking the waterpark as I thought it was closer. Was a 20 minute bus ride to another hotel, but a 10 minute walk. We used it once and only stayed a morning, the waterpark itself was tired and quite small. Wouldn't do that extra again.
Overall great holiday and was perfect for we needed!
Would just add, lots of lovely people gave us inflatables and pool toys, try to pass them on as if you leave them outside your room they get thrown away!

Most up to date review as of 27/11/25. I will go through hotel by sections, I would look at the food, drink and noise sections mainly. And look at the conclusion at end.

Main issues:
What is with the extra stuff that you have to pay for?? I mean it's an All inclusive and to have any decent beer, WIFI?!?, the safe, Drinks after 11pm? (even tho bar men closed it after 11pm anyway)

Rooms/Check in:
Overall, rooms were alright. We got put in one quite close to the pool/restaurant but some others were quite far away so may be a 5 mins walk if you are in the far ones. Space is ok, bathroom had duel sink, toilet had a drip that never got fixed (not that annoying). Shower was alright for couple days, then started to go either boiling hot or very cold. Beds are probably the worst part with being quite uncomfortable and a few other reviews say this. However, another main issue is if someone is next door in your little bungalow, it sounds like they may as well be in the room with you as when people moved in you could hear every conversation, shower, etc.

Cleaning;
Hotel was decently clean, cleaning of the rooms happened at relatively good times. One day, one of the cleaners took the bottom sheet of the bed and didn't replace it.

Food:
Well, where to start. Food gets quite cold, as soon as you get back to your table after picking it from the different sections it will be cold. There's enough options for food, depending on the day. However it seems very much what you would expect from a lower par all inclusive, which is unfortunate. Food from snack/pool bar was also as disappointing unfortunately.

Drinks:
These are also disappointing, Amstel is the only beer and few bad cocktails. Service was pretty disappointing also, someone would be standing by the bar and would walk past you and ignore you until it was a convenient time for them

Noise/people:
This was my main issue about the holiday, not sure if I missed something but this hotel should be very very much highlighted as a FAMILY ONLY hotel. As I have just been in November and there's loads of kids and small children. They blast loud music by the pool area so good luck with relaxing by the pool and having a swim. Bars of a night were super loud as they are just empty rooms with chairs and tables so very echoy.

In conclusion, DON'T COME HERE IF you want a relaxing holiday, want any good food or drinks, drinks after 11pm and if you can't afford data for your phone. Very disappointed as thought it was going to be a good relaxing holiday, ended up leaving early and going to an area which we go to and love for the rest of our time.
