Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica
Perched on the coast to the north of the island, Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica is a family-friendly resort with plenty of activities and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. The resort is found on the outskirts of Runaway Bay, an area known for its beautiful beaches, clear water and coral reef. At Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica, there are opportunities galore to make the most of the optimum beachside location - lounge on the beach, enjoy a friendly volleyball match, or learn the basics of paddle boarding or catamaran sailing. Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica also features three outdoor pools, a relaxing spa and a kids’ water park, as well as six restaurants and multiple beach and poolside bars.
An hour’s drive from Sangster International Airport, Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica sits in one of the island’s most vibrant pockets of resorts. With direct beach access, the hotel is well located for those wanting to make the most of Jamaica’s stunning white-sand beaches, but it’s also well situated for exploring more of the island’s natural beauty. Take a tour around the underground caverns at Green Grotto Caves - a 5-minute drive away - or explore the waterfalls and beaches at Dunn's River Falls & Park, found around 30 minutes away. Other areas of interest located slightly further away include Nine Mile, the birthplace of Bob Marley, and James Bond Beach which featured in the Bond movie ‘Dr. No’. Both sites can be reached with a 70-minute drive.
The hotel has 850 Suites, each featuring en suite facilities as well as complimentary Wi-Fi and a minibar. The rooms are styled with cool floor tiles and mahogany furniture. Rooms feature balconies or patios so that guests can make the most of the sunny weather, with each suite offering views of either the surrounding gardens or the ocean. At the centre of each room is a four-poster bed with soft, luxurious curtains. Rooms also include a separate sitting area. Other amenities include a plasma TV, air-conditioning and coffee facilities while the bathrooms include a toilet, rainfall shower and a jetted bathtub.
Food and Drink
Vibrant flavours abound at the hotel’s six restaurants, ensuring there’s something for even the fussiest of eaters. Orquidea is the main restaurant - it serves up an international buffet made using an array of locally sourced ingredients. As the name suggests, the Beach Restaurant pairs a bite to eat with beachside views and a relaxed vibe. And then there’s the four a la carte restaurants, including the Garden Grill steakhouse and Dolce Vita restaurant which specialises in Italian favourites. Japanese cuisine is served at the contemporary Mikado restaurant, while Don Pablo features gourmet dishes in a sophisticated setting.
Sports, Games and Entertainment
The sprawling resort is home to many activities, ranging from three outdoor swimming pools to an on-site spa. Massage treatments wrap guests up in a cocoon of relaxation, while other treatments include facials, body wraps, manicures and pedicures. The hair salon also offers cuts and styles for both men and women. Those wanting to keep active can get involved in an on-site aerobics class, dance lesson or tennis match - plus staff at the Scubaquatic Activities Centre teach holidaymakers how to scuba dive, paddle board and more. There’s plenty for little ones too including the slides and rope bridges at the water park, as well as a Mini-Club where games and activities take place throughout the day.
