The service from the front desk, restaurant and room cleaners was always friendly and helpful. We had a late flight and were able to shower before being collected on departure. We were in the Annex and the "double" room was very large, clean and tidy. We used the safe and fridge. The air con was a bit noisy but we got used to it. For quality of fixtures and fittings think UK Premier Inn. It was quiet (except the church bell opposite). The location of this hotel is amazing if you want to be close to the beach. We swam every day in the sea (5 to 10 min walk) and didn't use the pool. Some of the hotels further up the hill may be posher but you wouldn't be able to nip out for a quick dip as we did daily. There are some amazing restaurants close by to the hotel too.

Right on the port. Great access to beach and walking to bars and restaurants and great views of you are sea side. Nice balconies which is great for viewing but not so great for outside nighttime noise...even with balcony door closed (but not the hotels fault, even though they do have an 11pm quiet policy).  Wonderful breakfast buffet. No fitness facilities. Staff was very helpful. Towels for 10 euro deposit.  Rooms are small-ish and compact but comfortable and clean. Best part was the balcony-great for sunset viewing.

Enjoyable experience at the Fergus hotel. Everything in town was walkable and the public beach is right across the street. The restaurant / bar are beach facing on the lobby floor of hotel and relatively inexpensive. The experience there is very pleasant and relaxing. There is also a hotel pool but we didn't use on our visit. The rooms weren't impressive and the bed was very firm but the hotel is in a great location.

What a lovely hotel! We had a huge room by the swimming pool! This is a very clean place and the staff are amazing! Please note: if you have disability issues it can be quite hard to get in the swimming pool as the steps are very low down! Oh and the breakfasts were varied and yummy! Also a stones throw from the beach!

We just finished our stay here and we were so sad to leave.  From the moment we arrived, Gregory was nothing but professional, helpful and friendly.  He really set the tone to the start of a great stay.  All the staff at the front desk that we ran into was super nice as well.

We got an ocean balcony room and it is 100% worth it.  You have a private jacuzzi tub and a direct view of the port, the train and all the action.

Breakfast was a solid assortment and like I said previously, it’s centrally located to all the action in the port (and super close to the tram/ train).

The only thing we were kind of bummed about was that we didn’t get new tissues and shower gel refilled so we did run out one night, but other than that the service was impeccable, the location unbeatable and we would definitely stay there again if visiting the lovely Port again.

We had a sea view room with small balcony, lovely view of the beach and harbour! Level access from the street/side of the hotel into reception area. Lift and stairs. Steps down to the breakfast room. Huge choice of hot/cold food, juices, smoothies, cereals, fruit, omlettes, pastries. Disappointing gluten free section with only bread, tiny chocolate chip cookies and plain (boring) cup cakes. No dairy free yoghurts available either - I did ask. They sell them in some of the local supermarkets though.
Not enough storage in the bedroom, only 1 drawer for 2 of us! Fridge, TV and coffee/tea making facilities. Kettle of handle gets very hot though. Pleasant staff. We didn't know that the pool is in a separate building up the road until we got there! Go out the side door, turn right past the cafes, cross the road, then the building on your right with your room key, through the large hall way and the pool is out the door on the right.
