We have just returned from an 8 day break that because it was sooooo poor we had to move after 4 days!. It is an incredibly poor offering, in most of what it offers except its location which is brilliant and the roof areas for sunbathing which are well positioned and there are 2-3 of them. That said  these are the only 2 redeeming factors for this place.This is promted as a 4 star property, but really it barely makes a 3. The rooms are pokey, and we had what was prompted as being a junior suite which really meant and old settee and a coffee table. Sewage smells were often coming through into the rooms and the room was very cold. You would believe that with an all inclusive menu you would be able to find something good to eat; wrong! The food was bland, with the cheapest cuts of meat used and no care or seasoning put into any dish. Really dissappointing. This place should be avoided at all turns. There are many nice places in tge surrounding areas as we found within or not far from the cost that Fergus is charging. We  rought our concerns to management  but they did  not seem to care. It is a shame because with a little care and interest it could be a nice property, but none of those things seem applied at the moment which make it an incredibly poor choice and offering.

The most memorable thing about my stay at the hotel in November was the amazing treatment I received at the spa located inside the hotel from a very professional lady called Iria. I believe the spa is called something like Golden Harmony Spa. The lady delivered a really high quality massage and therapeutic experience. Importantly, she took the time to give a very tailored experience to the individual. She made sure she understood your needs and background, which most therapists fail to do. This made it feel like a much more high quality experience than you would get at most places. It felt like she was maybe an expert that has been doing it a long time but I don't know. Perhaps even more impressively, she seemed to be running the whole spa almost on her own. I don't know how she manages to do this for such a big hotel, but she does, and she does it always with a smile. I hope she is recognised for her talent.

Can I just say how amazing this place is I mean the food some nights can be quite questionable but for the most part the food is amazing also the room a base standard rooms beds comfortable and the view from are apartment was just insane the location of this hotel is right next to the shops and the beach the entertainment made it the best though as lenni was just amazing towards are family and the bar staff are as friendly as anything also. The entertainment that came in on lennis day of were also fantastic although entertainment area is very small the atmosphere was something else when it got going the sacksaphoneist was amazing as well as the singers that came in activity’s are pretty good nothing to complain about

Hotel Fergus Cactus Garden was absolutely amazing. I was afraid of the negative reviews, but the reality was much better. I would like to summarize all the rated points for everyone:

Hotel services = pool bar. Masseuse Iris, who gives a free 10-minute massage by the pool twice a week, you can book a massage with her and she will also give you a discount. 24/7 reception. Fitness. Jacuzzi. Terrace with an amazing view (I recommend the sunrise here or watching the stars fall at night).
Animation program = Leni - the best animator we have ever met. He takes "NO" as an answer and instead of trying to talk you into activities you don't want to do, he wishes you a nice day. And if you join one of his activities, you will have a lot of fun and entertainment :-)
Beach = beautiful endless sandy beach, great waves, warm even in November. Lots of nudists - so watch out for them :-) Sunbeds and umbrellas 5 EUR/day for each item. Public toilet right at the entrance to the beach. Outdoor workout for athletes. I recommend getting up at sunrise and walking towards the lighthouse, it's an experience.

FOOD POISONING ON MY 30th BIRTHDAY

A dream holiday turned into a nightmare. The hotel has a good location, and the room is spacious. The service is acceptable but definitely not four stars. The jacuzzi is available only from 10 AM to 6 PM, and there isn’t any significant entertainment in the evening.

After eating only at this hotel, I experienced food poisoning. On Monday, December 15th, for dinner, there was sushi and some tuna. The tuna was half-raw, and the salad was completely spoiled. The food quality was awful.

I spent €30 on medicine, and my birthday was completely ruined.

There are plenty of negative reviews on Google Maps mentioning food poisoning and hygiene standards (unfortunately, I didn’t read them before choosing the hotel).

In response, the hotel denies any wrongdoing.

I personally saw a member of staff coughing nonstop over the food and touching their face and the mugs. Disgusting!

On December 18th, I found a rotten tomato inside the salad; you can see the mold in the picture.

I will definitely complain to Jet2 Holidays about my experience, and I have also found other ways to make a formal complaint.

Shame, shame, shame!

UPDATED REPLY : The reply of the Hotel is copy paste on every review about food poisoning and food hygiene. Once again highlight their lack of professionalism and poor standard !!

We booked as a last minute deal for 5 days leading up to Christmas. On arrival we made very welcome and the family and i were upgraded to their junior suite which was a nice surprise. Based on the 7th floor we had a view out over the solarium and jacuzzi area. Room had large double bed that would sleep 3 people comfortably and in the other side of the room was a sofa bed which slept 2 easily. Bathroom was nicely decorated and had good shower (the only down side was that the drains did smell a little on a couple of the days we were there but nothing that couldnt be solved with a can of air freshener from the local supermarket! Hotel is about a 30m walk to the main promenade and no more than 10 mins walk to the beach. Roof top terrace has great vistas of the beach and a roof top bar. Most entertainment is around the pool and bar area, the animation team was great for a realtively small hotel. Food and restaurant was very good with a good balanced choice which covered all tastes.  Staff all around the hotel were attentive and very friendly

Great hotel, maybe not the most spectacular but the staff, the location and the facilities more than make up any shortcomings. Rooms were clean and tidy and restaurant was very good with a reasonable choice of food, swimming pool and bar area were fine with enough entertainment to keep most folk happy. Additionally there were two further sun lounge areas including a roof top area. The location was fantastic with a decent amount of shops and restaurants within 5 mins walk. The star of the show was one of the best beaches in the canaries I have experienced, miles of golden sands. I would happily recommend this hotel to others. Great job to all the staff. ⛱️😎👍

Fantastic all inclusive resort all around and not far from many many shops and the beech,
The only couple of things i'd say which didnt impact the stay still being great is the pizza needs to be a bit thinner so it can be cooked properly and only having pizza twice in the whole stay is a bit strange, double that frequnecy and half the dough used.  Keep an eye on salt levels of some of the dishes.
Also its a shame lighter local beer isnt on tap but thats just a personal opinion.
Still a 5 star place even with those minor things.
