Where to begin…

It’s quite hard to try and convey what this hotel was like, but to my fellow brits I’d say it’s a cross between the Solana from the TV show Benidorm and the hotel the lads stayed at in the Inbetweeners movie.

The rooms are about 25 years old, absolutely knackered. Upon arrival I found a number of items missing from the room description, the safe, minibar, one of my blackout curtains and no towels.

When we complained it was obvious the reception staff and had heard all this before. But, I was duly issued towels and a rusty minibar that was dirtier than your fridge at work.

The whole hotel site was very run down, paint peeling everywhere, broken sun loungers and stained carpets.

Dining was a battle, even in the ‘quite’ season the buffet is rammed. The hotel attracts a lot of ‘local’ guests from neighbouring Algeria, mainly groups of young men. Let’s say they don’t queue quite the same as we do, and they pile up their plates. Food often runs out, not that it’s a great loss. The food is bland, repetitive and 75% fish.

The main bar was also interesting. The drinks selection was very limited, and the bar often busy. The staff were pleasant in the morning but 12 hours into their shift the frustration showed. They often ran out of glasses and quite often told you to go off and find some of your own.

The hotel location was reasonable, the beach was lovely and as a ‘top tip’ the beach bar (only served larger so not really a bar) did pizzas at lunchtime which are slightly more edible than the main dining room offering.

The entertainment team were decent guys, the evening shows were okay and the drinks would begrudgingly flow from the bar until 11ish.

There seems to be about 15-20 brits at a time in the hotel. 65 % of the guests seem to be the Algerian lads I mentioned earlier. This naturally leads to the Brits forming a small group, which is important.

One of the most disconcerting things about our stay was the lack of the respect other guests showed towards women. You all have to stick together and keep an eye out, I’ve seen women be followed the bathrooms, accosted by the pools and generally made to feel unsafe.

It’s an absolute dive, although we did meet some decent people, and I had a laugh, making the best of a bad situation.

Wifi is only in reception and unbelievably slow so best off getting an esim. Rooms are incredibly outdated but clean. Some staff were great and others not so much. The locals in the hotel are quite rude and love to stare. Mixed bag really but not too bad for a cheap holiday

This hotel is great if your looking to loose a few pounds. The food was quite awful. Menu stayed the same pretty much every night so we didn’t have a chance to find anything good. The special everyday was grilled fish heads and bird tongue soup. We survived off of stale bread rolls and ,almost raw, boiled potatoes. The waiting staff were also rude and negligent,we had sat down on a clean table with cutlery set up and they waved at us and told us we had to move to another table (a dirty one) with used napkins and tooth picks! The plates were definitely not clean and looked as if they’d been in rotation for about a decade. They were full of chips and chunks taken out the side and black scuffs all over them. The pool area was nice and clean and the entertainment team were lovely. The rooms weren’t too bad but did feature a few ants and stains on the bed sheets. We had also bought a pack of cookies from the hotel shop one night and later the next evening when we came back from the pool the unopened pack had mysteriously went missing in the time the cleaners had been in. If you thought you were going to have a range of alcoholic drinks and soft drinks at the so called bar then think again. They served Coke and Fanta straight out the bottle and you had to pay for water. The bar was honestly the most pathetic thing I’ve ever seen(photos will be attached)Safe to say we will never be returning.

Do yourself a favour and avoid this hotel. We got stuck in there for a week and we really struggled throughout our stay. We paid for all inclusive but only good thing about our holiday was the beach and sun close to the hotel. The whole rest of it was just awfull. As we checked in, collected our keys and walked in to our room..  I got depressed. Everything was dated, old, including carpets, smell funny.. Window view was on the other side of the hotel so instead of having a nice view we had a view for something that reminded me a prison yard with a palm in the middle. Beware of the food as well, as everything in this hotel taste flat. Disgusting quality of products and unfortunately every day is the same. You have the same food for breakfast and lunch, dinner. No ventilation so all of the smells are mixed. So you can smell fish with pancakes etc. If you are a coffee lover you gotta have a hard time as well. There is no snack-bar. Don't expect to have WiFi in your room also. WiFi is available only in the main reception and it's very poor quality as everyone is using it. Overall - avoid!

Review of the hotel

We arrived late evening at the hotel, we went up to our room and the key wasn't working, we had to wait for someone to open the door for us. The next day, again, we had to ask maintenance to fix our door, turns out there was a little trick to open the door.

The room was ok, with a small fridge, air conditioning was working, you can't change the temperature but it keeps the room cool.
The bathroom was outdated, the shower felt old and was coming off the wall, but it was ok.

Rooms cleaned and towels changed daily. We had a balcony which was nice. Also got a fresh bottle of water everyday. Any extra bottles of water are 1 dinnar from the bar.

We booked all inclusive so we ate at the buffee restaurant. The food was ok. Breakfast wasn't for us.
Lunch and dinner options were ok. Pretty much the same things over and over again. The desserts were nice. There are water and juice machines around the restaurant. We got bored of the buffet and ate at the pizza restaurant.

The service was amazing. Everyone was very friendly. Staff by the pool kept offering us drinks. They look after you if you tip them.

The pools were really nice, plenty of space and lots of sunbeds. Beach is also really nice. Beach towels need a deposit of 20 Dinars and sun beds by the beach are 2 Dinars. You have a cash machine and a money exchange at reception.

Overall it was a nice holiday, we enjoyed our time and the staff were really nice. But the food and room lacked a little bit. We also didn't get any wifi in our room, only in the lounge areas.
