I am giving 1 star only for the beautiful terrace view and the friendly staff. Everything else was a disaster.

We stayed in an apartment at the turn of December and January. On the evening of our arrival, as soon as we entered the apartment, there was a horrible, unbearable smell coming from the kitchen. We reported it immediately at the reception and were told that someone would come the next day. The smell was so strong that we could not use the kitchen at all.

The next day technicians came and said the kitchen had previously been flooded. They turned on a dehumidifier and an air purifier, but unfortunately it did not help. The smell was still there the following day. Despite empty apartments next door, no one offered us a room change. We spent almost 48 hours in these conditions, without using the kitchen at all. Only after our intervention were we moved to another apartment (from room 333 to 334).

Another issue was breakfast. It cost almost 10 euros per person when booked through the website. The description online sounded great, but reality was very different. The food was poor quality and clearly made with extreme cost-cutting: stale bread and croissants, questionable sausage, and ridiculous portions (whether we ordered 2 or 4 portions of jam, we always received the same amount). The worst part? Ketchup for the sausage cost extra — 0.50 EUR.

Breakfast was served under a dirty tent next to an old trailer, with tables underneath. The high chair for children was in terrible condition. After three days of this culinary failure, we canceled the breakfasts and asked for a refund. We did receive a refund the next day, but the amount was incorrect. Only after pointing it out did we receive the remaining 48 euros.

Another unpleasant experience was the bathtub. The water temperature was inconsistent — in one apartment it was hot, in the other often only lukewarm. On top of that, the paint was peeling off the bathtub. I had to put a towel on the bottom, and later my daughter noticed pieces of paint stuck to my back after sunbathing. Very embarrassing.

To complete this experience, during two days of rain, water was leaking from the ceiling in the living room. We didn’t even file a complaint about this because we were already exhausted by everything else.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. I am attaching photos of the smell issue, the breakfasts, the bathtub, and the leaking ceiling. I really do not recommend this place. I understand this is a 3-star hotel, not a 5-star one, but basic decency was missing. Maybe other rooms are better, but our vacation was completely ruined.

Best of all: Incredible views from your private balcony. Nice heated pool.
Rooms are Clean although dated, full kitchenette and convenient location beside a supermarket to stock your shelves a week or two. Many good restaurants nearby. Kind and supportive sraff.

Very Disappointing Experience and Theft

We stayed 4 nights at this property in Tenerife, and unfortunately, our experience was ruined by a theft from our apartment.

While we were out, cash and a bank card were stolen, even though there were no signs of forced entry. Strangely, the theft happened right after the cleaning service had entered the room.

When we reported the incident to reception, the staff responded casually, telling us the manager wasn’t available and that we should go to the police. The nearest station was closed, so we had to travel across town to another one. There, we waited for over two hours for a translator, all while trying to make it to our scheduled flight.

Back at the hotel, we insisted on speaking to the manager, but we were told he was away participating in a surfing competition and would only return on Monday, after our departure.

The staff showed no empathy or responsibility. It felt as though they treated the situation as something ordinary, even suggesting that thefts “can happen to anyone,” as if we were staying on the street.

❗️We strongly advise against staying at this hotel – the lack of security, professionalism, and basic customer support in serious situations is unacceptable.

Great room with balcony, swimming pool and walking  distance to very good restaurants.

We booked a room more than 2 months in advance based on reviews and photos. Unfortunately, neither the reviews nor the photos reflected the conditions we found. The rooms in the pictures give the impression of new, renovated, and at worst refreshed and clean. We found a room that smelled like cheap toilet air freshener. Furniture damaged and rusted. A room from when the building was built. The shower room had a broken shower and no ventilation. The air-conditioning did not work on warm days, it barely cooled the room despite the curtains being drawn. The kitchen is equipped with old and damaged appliances. The reviews were full of information that the hotel was clean. The cleaning ladies were limited only to making the bed and taking out the garbage, leaving the smell of cheap toilet air freshener throughout the apartment. The room we booked was supposed to have an ocean view. Unfortunately, this one was obscured by the building opposite, so you couldn't see much. The offer included breakfast, which (which turned out only during check-in) is served in a bar a street away because the hotel does not have a restaurant, but only a bar by the pool. Of course, that wasn't mentioned in the description. Breakfast is tasteless and small, limited to 4 items. Once, after ordering one of the items, I received coffee, a slice of cheese, a slice of some meat, a roll and a banana. The pool was also a disappointment. The photos of the hotel pool were taken with a wide-angle lens, which may make it seem that the pool is large. Unfortunately, that too turned out to be a disappointment. The usual small pool. I would rate the standard of the hotel as 2 stars. Despite all the disappointments, the hotel did not want to negotiate a shorter stay. Only after a few conversations tried to find a better renovated room.

Wonderful apartments and complex, just a 10-minute walk from the beach! It’s also only a minute’s walk from a Lidl shopping center and surrounded by a great variety of nearby restaurants.

The complex itself has a poolside bar, which is perfect for ice creams and drinks, though the lunch options are a bit limited. However, the overall complex feels like 5 stars, and our top-floor apartment was stunning. We stayed in a spacious 3-bedroom unit with plenty of room, plus a huge balcony overlooking a beautiful sea view just 10 minutes away. Watching sunsets from there was a daily highlight, creating such a relaxing atmosphere!

Traveling with our four children, we had an amazing holiday! The pools – including a toddler pool and an adult pool – were clean and well-maintained, with the maintenance team regularly checking chemical levels and cleanliness. A lifeguard was also on duty all day until 7 p.m., adding to the peace of mind.

Overall, a fantastic place to unwind and enjoy a memorable holiday!

El Marques Palace offers relaxation at its best. The resort is tastefully structured around the heated pool and children's pool for privacy. There are plenty of comfortable sun beds around the pools. Tennis, squash, and a sauna are also on premises. Amenities include car rental services, elevator, and a snack bar. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area. This is the perfect couples retreat and home base for your Canary Island vacation.
The cleaning of the apartments is done every 48 hours.
